After years of battling abuse, I finally found the courage to kick him out and not take him back. Now I’m trying to pick up the pieces of my life, stand on my own two feet, and figure out what’s next. I’m left dealing with severe health issues that have landed me in the hospital from dehydration and neglect since he walked away. I have no help, I don’t know my legal rights (like whether I can change the locks), and I’m trying to find the right attorney to move forward. I feel completely helpless, but I still have a roof over my head — thank God for that. If it wasn’t for Him, I wouldn’t even be here writing this.
