My sincere condolences to his family members his twin Scotty, friends, and fans. This really hurts. The Whispers, one of the original groups from the 50s. I love all of the them, the band included. The largest Antebellum mansion in the South, dating back to 1859, has been destroyed by a fire and the #slaves that built the place are now free and truly resting. The #NottowayPlantation is one of the largest historic mansions in the South. It's located on the famous River Road between #BatonRouge and #NewOrleans. The mansion, which sits on 31 acres, is known for its massive white columns and grand balconies that overlook the #Mississippi River. On the other side, three-story rotundas overlooked the lawns, dotted with the large oak trees. The oldest tree on the property is about 162 years old—about the same age as the mansion, according to Nottoway's resort website. It's also a piece of #American #history🙄that stirs debate and dark memories. The #plantation was once owned by John Hampden Rudolph, a sugar planter. The 64-room, 53,000 square foot property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The fire at Nottoway Plantation in White Castle, LA—just outside Baton Rouge—broke out around 2pm on Thursday, May 15 and reduced the 160-year-old landmark to rubble. It's believed slaves build the home. By 1860, Randolph owned 155 enslaved #Black people who helped maintain the plantation. During the #CivilWar, Nottoway Plantation was able to avoid any major damage. Its early history is undeniably tied to a time of great injustice, personally I don’t have any remorse that this place is gone!!

This is Don Scott, he’s the #Virginia Speaker of the House. The night of the election he’s going to get at least 55 seats, he ended up getting 64 seats, flipping 13 #republican seats #democrat. They now have a supermajority! The reason why I bring this up, imagine if #President #JoeBiden would have had a 64 supermajority in the #Senate how much more could he have gotten done? #VotingMatters!!

How many #blacks that didn’t vote how much did #trump win in #Georgia and #NorthCarolina. In Georgia 1,016,000 #blackpeople didn’t #vote, trump won by 115,000 votes. In North Carolina 661,000 black people didn’t vote, trump won by 183,000 votes 40% of black people did not vote in the 2024 election but 70% of WHITE #evangelicals voted for trump Speaker Mike Johnson became the speaker by 7000 votes Our silence and #misinformation is killing us! Whitley Gilbert was accepted into Georgetown but chose Hillman because her grandfather was almost admitted to an Ivy League school until he showed up to the interview and they realized he was Black. She chose Hillman because it would accept and love her Blackness. A Different World premiered in 1987 and HBCU enrollment increased by 26 percent during its run. And just last year, HBCUs lost over $210 million in federal funding under trump. Under Biden, HBCU received over $17 billion and at the end of his term he said it’s still not enough.
