Today, I condemned the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and the imprisonment of Chinmoy Krishna Das. I am also concerned by the attempt in their High Court to rule that #ISKCON should be banned from the country. Freedom of religion must be preserved globally.

I raised the horrific intimidation of my constituents and many others, as Pro-Khalistan thugs disrupted screenings of the new "Emergency" film in cinemas. Some cinemas have even pulled the film in fear of more disruption. We must stand up to anyone trying to silence free speech

Yesterday, I met leaders from Balochistan, Sindh and the Muttahida Qaum party. We discussed the horrendous human rights violations in Pakistan. We give Pakistan millions of pounds in aid. This money should not be diverted away from the communities that desperately need it.

I raised my concerns on the situation in Bangladesh. Since the coup, attacks on minorities have escalated, most notably on Hindus, yet the UK Government has failed to properly call it out. I will continue pressing the FCDO to stand up for human rights and religious freedom.

It will soon be the third anniversary of Vahid Beheshti وحید بهشتی's hunger strike. In light of the Iranian regime’s brutality, now is the time to finally proscribe the IRGC. I also urged the Govt to arrange a ministerial meeting, as his calls have been ignored for the past 3 years.
