Prince George will be going to Eton College from September as a Year 9 (13 year old). From growing up on an east London council estate, I studied at my local state school and got a full Sixth Form scholarship to study at Eton. As someone that has been a state school teacher for more than a decade, I know fully well the value of educating children. Definitely a different world at Eton though! I had a positive experience and my two younger brothers also won Sixth Form scholarships to Eton after me. #Eton #EtonCollege #school #education #princegeorge

What can men do to help women feel safer walking at night? 🌙 I was walking just now and saw a solo female ahead of me. I crossed the road and walked at pace to leave a gap. As a man, I recognise it’s a privilege to walk oafter dark without constantly thinking about safety. For many women, that isn’t the case. Sometimes small actions help. Awareness and empathy from men can make public spaces feel safer for everyone. #WomensSafety #MalePrivilege #SafetyAtNight #Allyship #Awareness #Respect #EverydayActions

Have libraries changed your life? I'm speaking this afternoon UK House of Commons reception on how libraries changed my life. As a child, I visited my local East Ham Library every Saturday with my Dad & bros. As UK Libraries Champion CILIP (2019-21) & ambassador for The Reading Agency, I will keep shouting on the roof tops about libraries 🗣️ From supporting learning at all ages, to improving digital literacy for the most vulnerable, to equipping people with the skills they need to thrive in the modern economy, libraries are truly engines of social mobility #LibrariesChangeLives

Where do I spend my Saturday afternoons? My local library. As well as a supportive environment for reading, books & knowledge, they are places that give the community a warm place in the winter and even hot drinks for those that need it. Libraries really are pillars of our local communities. I used to visit my local East Ham library as a child with my dad each weekend and it gave me the confidence to be who I am. I was the UK libraries champion for CILIP (previously Mary Beard & Stephen Fry) and currently charity ambassador for The Reading Agency. #librarylife #libraries #books #bookworm #storytime #community #winter
