In Todd McShay’s Mock Draft 2.0, he has Baltimore selecting Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan 27th overall. The 21-year-old is 6-4, 219 pounds. When Todd interviewed Eric DeCosta Combine week, EDC admitted that a true X receiver is the “one piece we’ve probably missed on” during his time as GM. Interesting. via Pac-12 Network

Alex Smith on Shedeur Sanders' decision to turn down being drafted by the Ravens in April: "I think this is insane. ... At this point you're in the fifth round. I understand you had higher hopes, but you've dropped to the fifth round and you're thinking about being a starting quarterback the next year. I think this is incredibly shortsighted. ... You want to go to a good organization where you can develop and reach your potential."

Shannon Sharpe: "Explain to me how can Nate Wiggins run 4.28 at the combine, play off coverage and teams still get behind him? ... What good does gambling gonna do? He can't catch the ball. He had an opportunity to seal the game last week. The ball hit him in the chest and he dropped it. Why is he gambling?" via Nightcap

Shannon Sharpe: "You gotta be as gracious in defeat as you are in victory. ... Short of him saying 'I sucked today' I ain't wanna hear nothing he have to say. ... You gotta talk in defeat just like you would in victory. That's what makes us pros. We don't hide. We don't run. We don't tuck our tails when things don't go our way." via Nightcap

Mike Tomlin on the Ravens, schematically speaking, when it comes to Lamar Jackson vs. Tyler Huntley as QB1: "I think there's certainly some things that are exclusive to Lamar and that's not taking anything away from Huntley. It's just certain things that are Lamar and no other human on the planet." via Pittsburgh Steelers

Steve Bisciotti went out of his way to show support for Tyler Loop after the rookie's season ended in heartbreak: "I feel terrible for Tyler. He's gonna be a great kicker. He's gonna learn from this. ... It's a terrible job in the NFL. It really is. You have to work twice as hard to earn people's respect and then they can hate ya in a second. I think that kid's resilient enough, from what I've learned, he'll be our kicker next year." via Baltimore Ravens

Mike Tomlin on Pittsburgh's Ravens game plan: "We certainly took some schematic risk in an effort to minimize Lamar's talents in the game, and I think we suffered the consequences from that at times. ... That's what you do when you're playing to win. In the analysis of it, we'd probably do it again to be quite honest with you. That's the type of challenges that guys like him put you in ... We just felt like we couldn't allow him to run wild. We chose a hill to die on, if you will. Thankfully, we didn't." via Pittsburgh Steelers

Cam Newton: "If they don't have Lamar Jackson in this particular game coming up, I think that will be a positive. Steve Bisciotti's assessment of GM Eric DeCosta: "I'm not gonna look at Eric's 200 whiffs. I'll look at his 800 singles, doubles and home runs. To me, that's fair. I'm very, very pleased with Eric. I know that Eric has been very, very introspective about his failures and how they contributed to our dear friend being shown the door. Nobody's harder on himself than Eric." via Baltimore Ravens
