WHY WON'T OPTUM SHOW THEIR PRICES? In any other industry, if someone offers a lower price than competitors, they will boast about it by showing their prices. Why won't Optum show their prices if they claim their prices are lower? The simple answer: because when they add all the extra charges AND fees/markups, their prices are not lower, and Mark calls them out on it. 💯 Watch the full duscussion here:

This is one of the greatest days of hope in this advocacy journey. Many pharmacists have said the same for years about PBMs. Will The White House finally listen as someone with knowledge & a large platform speaks? I hope others with a large platform will come forward.

FYI UnitedHealthcare UnitedHealth Group‼️ CEO Patrick Conway of Optum RX has agreed that out of pocket cost for #medications and services for out-of-network providers or #pharmacies should be counted toward deductibles. Patrick Conway even said he would allow for Mark Cuban to be part of the discussion with the CEO of United Healthcare. We cannot wait to hear the update after the meeting‼️ It is logical that if a patient takes the effort to get a better price due to the failure of the #insurance company or #Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) to negotiate one, then the out-of-pocket cost should be applied toward the deductible. Just when you think CVS couldn't go lower. It appears that CVS may have engaged in practices that are very concerning. According to a legislator, CVS allegedly utilized patient data to create the false impression that patients were contacting legislators regarding legislation aimed at preventing insurance company PBMs from owning pharmacies. It seems patients were unaware of CVS's use of their data in this manner. It's time to put an end to their monopolistic ways. Arkansas House Democrats Arkansas House

A Walgreens pharmacist barely holds back tears. I've lost count of the number of pharmacists that I've seen cry or almost in tears, because their pharmacies are forced to close as our government fails to stop the monopolization of the pharmacy industry. America's pharmacy access is being robbed from America by insurance companies that merged with mail order pharmacies that they often force to. The truth is that local pharmacies are busier than ever, but are being forced to close, so insurance companies can monopolize and distort drug prices. This has to stop. Yesterday, I traveled to Arkansas, the state that is the first to take the life-saving movement toward breaking up the health insurance and healthcare monopolies. "The bill will ban PBMs (Optum RX, CVS Caremark, & Express Scripts) from obtaining a license to own their own pharmacies in Arkansas. It will also force PBMs that currently own their own pharmacies here to sell those pharmacies by Jan. 26, 2026. It is a clear conflict of interest that the PBMs — which set reimbursement rates on drug costs for all pharmacies and determine which drugs a health plan will cover — should also own their own pharmacies. Time and time again, PBMs use this unfair advantage to generate a windfall of immense profit for themselves at the expense of patients. They steer patients to their own pharmacies — and they pay their own pharmacies a better reimbursement rate on drug costs than they do their local, independent competitors. The result: higher drug prices for all patients, fewer choices of where patients can obtain those drugs, and worse quality of care — as local pharmacies close."
