Good morning, Nigerians, Today, we just want to take some time to remind President Tinubu that he promised Nigerians uninterrupted electricity within four years. Yes, that’s right, Mr. President promised us 24/7 power. All by himself. Yet today, the facts speak louder than Mr. President’s penchant for broken promises: 1. Since Tinubu took office, electricity tariffs have jumped by 240%, but the grid has collapsed 12 times, plunging millions of homes and businesses into repeated darkness. 2. Over 90 million Nigerians still lack electricity, while many get just 4 to 6 hours a day under Tinubu’s failed Band A–E system. 3. In rural communities, most of Nigeria’s 50 million families remain completely off the grid, with no access to electricity at all. Yet, Mr. President still has not moved the needle. In 26 months, there has been no major power sector reforms, no clear roadmap, and no sense of urgency. We are past the halfway mark of this administration, and millions of Nigerians are still charging their phones at mobile charging kiosks, and spending hundreds of thousands to fuel their generators. So, Mr. President, on this fine Sunday morning, we ask: - Where is the light? - What happened to your promise? - And how much longer do Nigerians have to wait in the dark? Mr. President, you once said: “If I don’t give you electricity, don’t vote for me.” Well, Nigerians are listening. And come 2027, we intend to grant your wish.

On October 29, 2006, ADC Airlines Flight 053 crashed in Abuja, killing 96 people, including the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammadu Maccido, who had come to the capital to attend an education summit organised by the Federal Government. Now, it is this same national tragedy that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has turned into a joke and material for mockery. Who are these people?

Wike threatening to shoot Seun Okinbaloye from Channels Television for doing his job as a journalist is irresponsible and unacceptable. This must be condemned by all lovers of freedom of speech. After destroying opposition parties, they now want to start shooting journalists.

Ahead of the November 8th election, Soludo has clearly lost the confidence of the people of Anambra, and it shows. Only a sitting governor who has run out of public goodwill would so openly resort to cash for votes, in direct violation of Sections 121 and 127 of the Electoral Act, which criminalise voter inducement of any form. This is a new level of desperation, wrapped in impunity, and I hope that INEC is not pretending not to see it. #AnambraDecides

You can pay lobbyists $9m to repackage you, but you cannot whitewash the facts: Fact 1: More people have been killed by terrorists under this government than at any other time in Nigeria’s history. ✔️ Fact 2: More people (135 million Nigerians) are living in poverty today than at any other time in Nigeria’s history. ✔️ Fact 3: When you try to defend incompetence, you will ALWAYS end up sounding like an idiot. ✔️

Great question. What the ADC won’t do is plunge Nigerians into poverty with poorly thought-out policies like the Tinubu/APC subsidy removal has done. What we will do differently is to protect the most vulnerable through targeted subsidies — so that relief actually reaches the people who need it.

We will say it again: This is the most shambolic government in Nigerian history.

While Nigerians live with darkness and insecurity, the President has allegedly spent N10 billion to take Aso Villa off the national grid. In just one month, 735 Nigerians have been killed by the insurgency. If this is success, what does failure look like?

In solidarity with Hassan Mai-Waya Kangiwa, the detained journalist who exposed the incompetence of the APC-led Kebbi State Government, I will be posting a video showing the dilapidated healthcare facility that Hassan posted. We call on the Kebbi State Government to immediately release Hassan and respect the fundamental rights of journalists to report the truth. I urge all Nigerians who believe in accountability and good governance to repost this video until two things happen: 1. Hassan is released unconditionally, and 2. The Kebbi state government addresses the urgent concerns raised about its healthcare system. #FreeHassanKangiwaNow

After a careful review of the 2026 Budget Proposal presented to the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu on Friday, December 19, 2025, the African Democratic Congress’s Team of Economists has concluded that Tinubu’s 2026 Budget should be renamed: “A Budget of Quicksand, More Debt and Wishful Thinking.” This is why:

3 SEPTEMBER 2025 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRESS STATEMENT ADC to First Lady: National Library is Not a Gift – Says Nigeria’s Intellectual Heritage Must Not Depend on Charity The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the Federal Government to immediately take responsibility for completing the long-abandoned National Library of Nigeria project in Abuja, warning that a national monument of such importance should not be left to private charity. Reacting to recent comments by First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, who announced her intention to support the library’s completion as part of her birthday celebrations, the ADC expressed appreciation for her gesture, but stressed that the National Library cannot be reduced to a personal pet project. According to the party, the National Library, established by an Act of Parliament in 1964, is the custodian of Nigeria’s collective memory and intellectual heritage. In this regard, its completion and long-term maintenance, the ADC argued, must be prioritized through transparent, sustainable and predictable national funding, not through goodwill donations. The full statement read: The African Democratic Congress (ADC) acknowledges and appreciates the thoughtful gesture of The First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, in drawing attention to the abandoned National Library of Nigeria project in Abuja as part of her birthday celebrations. However, as a responsible party, we must firmly state that the National Library of Nigeria cannot, and must not, be reduced to the status of a personal pet project of any individual, no matter how well-intentioned. The National Library is a living repository of our collective memory and intellectual heritage. It is the custodian of Nigeria’s story, culture, research, and knowledge production. It is not just another building. It was established by an Act of Parliament in 1964, as a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Education to ensure that future generations have access to the wealth of knowledge needed to build a progressive and enlightened society. Therefore, for sustainability purposes, the library and its projects must be funded through national budgetary provisions. Now that Mrs. Tinubu has shown interest in the National Library, what is required is not personal charity, but presidential attention. The First Lady should use her influence to impress upon President Tinubu the urgency of completing this project through budgetary allocations. From what we know, the responsibility for its funding was at some point shifted to TETFUND. This explains why there were no direct budgetary allocations for the library in both the 2024 and 2025 budgets. But let us be clear: the National Library of Nigeria is far too important to be treated as an afterthought or left to depend on the goodwill of well-meaning individuals. A nation’s intellectual heritage cannot rest on acts of benevolence, while being deliberately neglected in the appropriation process. We thank Mrs. Tinubu for her concern and for drawing attention to this long-neglected project. However, with all due respect, “No ma!” Signed, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi National Publicity Secretary African Democratic Congress (ADC)
