YouTube has some strange double standards when it comes to kink/BDSM content. Kink isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s very odd that educational videos and channels are being taken down if they feature kink but adverts on the same platform that show far more, are allowed. The Kelloggs Crunchy Nut Cornflakes ad campaign included a man in just his underwear, blindfolded and handcuffed. We had a tutorial video that was taken down, even though it showed far less. Music videos, such as S&M by Rihanna, show various types of kink, but don’t have an age gate and are fully monetised. I would like to ask YouTube to consider their stance on educational kink content, as they seem happy for kink to be used, as long as it’s for humour or to sell a product. But, like any part of our sexuality, we need access to discussion and information, in order to make informed decisions. Your support, to share, comment and like, would be most appreciated.
