The 2009 Lamborghini Murciélago SV is the last of a dying breed. Naturally aspirated V12. 9,000 RPM. 670 hp. And yes—I swapped it to a manual. No electric motors. No self-driving. Awful sound system. Hand-built, analog perfection. Thanks to the worst winter in Utah history, I’ve been driving supercars all winter. I hope that changes soon!

I’m not going to identity the man or the company, so please don’t ask, but today my car was hit by a 250 gallon tank on I-15 that was not secured properly on this man’s trailer. I called highway patrol and reported it. I wasn’t thrilled, mostly because the driver kept going and I had to chase him down. He was contrite and very sorry. We exchanged insurance info. So really, this is just a PSA: secure your loads better. This could’ve been a lot worse.

Ok what I’m about to say is full blown conspiracy theory thinking but here it is: The Salt Lake Temple reconstruction is a sign that a major natural disaster, like an earthquake, is going to hit Salt Lake City sooner than later. We’ve had two earthquakes that have been big enough to feel in the Salt Lake Valley in just the last two weeks. We know that we sit on major fault lines and that there is a 50% chance of a 7.0 quake or larger in the next 50 years or so. And since I believe in a Prophetic leadership group at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I start asking myself why the brethren have invested tens of millions (or maybe more) into the Salt Lake Temple to make it able to withstand a major earthquake. So I’m gearing up. I hope nothing happens but I refuse to be a victim in case something does. My advice? Start with a 72 hour kit. While I have more than a 72 hour kit prepared for my family, I think it’s a minimum entry point to be able to stay alive and my buddy Christian Schauff owns a company called Uncharted Supply Co in Park City that happens to sell them. I bought ten of them today and will be giving them to family members. See below:

Seven year anniversary of a very scary wreck in Little Cottonwood Canyon. UTA bus coming down the canyon spun out of control in slick conditions. Hit the car in front of me and then my car. Spun us back down the canyon. Totaled my brand new Range Rover. Kids and I taken by ambulance yesterday to get checked out. By the grace of God we were ok. Seatbelts and airbags likely saved us from much more serious injuries.
