Green reading is a skill and the rules now make sure of it. After the 2023 season, detailed contour maps were banned—no more slopes, no more percentages, no more shortcuts. Just you, your eyes, and your feel. I pulled out an old yardage book to show the difference, and honestly… let’s just say, I love this rule. Great putters read greens, simple as that.
