Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani's plan to build 200,000 new homes, protect tenants, and invest in public housing will make this a more affordable city for New Yorkers. In Congress, I’ll be a strong partner for the resources to bring this vision to life. Love that the Mayor launched his #BlockByBlock plan in Gowanus. The work we did here is a model for how we can make housing more affordable in NYC & all around the country.

Who doesn't agree with taxing billionaires more? Oh right, the billionaires! They may whine about it (and even try buying elections to stop us), but the movement is growing to tax obscene wealth — and use it to fund child care, health care, and affordable housing. In NYC, that’s the pied-a-terre tax. In Washington, that’s Senator Elizabeth Warren’s 2-cent wealth tax on fortunes over $50 million (and 3-cents over $1 billion).
