I love seeing creators push visual ideas further than they have any right being. Impossible scenes are now possible with AI. Just updated this one with a better robot at the beginning.

Designing an original AI Character. I wanted to give you a glimpse of what goes into the creation of the elaborate characters in my sci-fi world. Hint: It’s not a fast process. AI can spit out endless slop. That is, when you’re being lazy, because the lazier your prompting is, the more generic the outcome is. I’m not saying you have to write a novel and input every image and style reference on the internet, but you do need a curious and intentional eye with a generous helping of patience. So I made this high level walkthrough of my creative journey when designing a character with AI. I really take my time pushing and kit-bashing my creations before I’m happy with them. This process can take me hours. It took me about two full workdays to arrive at the complex design for this specific character. And if you’re a fellow AI artist, hopefully it inspires you to use your own hands to get a little dirty and not always settle for what you get out of the box. Watch the full video here:

A parade of the chosen theocracy on Callisto… The AI workflow had a really heavy use of photoshop, Magnific.ai, Kling AI and Topaz Labs Astra for the first shot which was a 480p Midjourney video… also used Runway references through Freepik (now Magnific)
