Deakyn DeHoet does it‼️ The Jefferson-Morgan senior wins PIAA gold in the 100-meter dash following a time of 10.51. He becomes the first WPIAL boy to win a state title in the 100 since Aliquippa’s MJ Devonshire in 2019!

In cold and rainy conditions, McKeesport’s Kemon Spell wins the 100-meter dash at the Baldwin Invitational. Winning time of 11.03 seconds.

This isn’t cool. Following Chartiers Valley's upset win over Montour, a fan came out of the stands and appeared to shove Chartiers Valley star Jayden Davis before security stepped in.

Wow! Just when it appeared that Aubree Hupp had put Blackhawk ahead by 2 with 22 seconds left, she’s instead whistled for a charge, her fifth foul of the game. What a swing! Oakland Catholic ball with 16 ticks left.

Final in OT -- Peters Township 52, York Suburban 48. The Indians reach the PIAA Class 5A semifinals for the second year in a row and will face South Fayette on Tuesday. Taylor McCullough scored a game-high 20 points and Maddy Mehl tacked on 17.

Final - South Fayette 45, Archbishop Wood 35 ... Make it back-to-back PIAA Class 5A titles for South Fayette, which becomes the first WPIAL team to win consecutive titles since 2015. Ryan Oldaker scored a game-high 15 points and Juju Leroux added 10. 🏆🏆

I typically don't see a player score his 1,000th point in person, but I was fortunate to see one do it today. Congrats to Central Catholic's Enzo Khalil for reaching the milestone on this free throw. Coach Brian Urso said Khalil will go down as one of the best to ever play there.

The Pirates select Liberty RHP and Montour grad Dylan Mathiesen in the 13th round (383rd overall). Mathiesen led the WPIAL in strikeouts his senior season in 2022 when he helped Montour win its first PIAA title. ⚾️🏆

New Castle’s Kaevon Gardner wins the 100-meter dash at the Butler Invitational with a time of 10.84 seconds. McKeesport’s Kemon Spell takes second.

New Pitt transfer Jalil Bethea can shoot the rock. I once saw him knock down 11 3-pointers while leading Archbishop Wood past North Hills in the state quarterfinals. Also a pretty good dunker.

Final -- Neshannock 61, Bishop McCort 57 ... Luann Grybowski's Lancers advance to the PIAA Class 2A final for the third time in six years! Sophia Bonner and freshman Lilliana Cain were the stars, fueling a second-half rally by combining to score 27 points in the second half.

Cool moment for North Allegheny grad Cole Young, who gets a big ovation from the Seattle crowd as he steps to the plate for his first MLB at-bat. Swung at the first pitch he saw and flew out to right. Big things expected out of the 21-year old. #WPIAL

“The shot heard around Greene County.” West Greene’s Lane Allison, the starting QB on the school’s football team, used that strong arm to make the shot of the year in the WPIAL tonight. His shot/throw helped the Pioneers beat Chartiers-Houston, 52-51. Wow!

Final - Mt. Lebanon 64, Imani Christian 61. Lebo advances to face New Castle in the WPIAL Class 6A semifinals. Liam Sheely scored a game-high 23 points. Freshman Jacob Zaber and Carter Gould hit some big FTs in the final minute.

Final in 8 (Class 5A) -- Shaler 5, Pine-Richland 2 … Titans become only the fourth school with at least seven WPIAL titles. Colby Weber gave up 2 hits and struck out 13 in 6 innings. Pine scored with two outs in 7th force extras. Shaler took advantage of Pine bullpen in 8th.

Upper St. Clair held the WPIAL’s most potent offense (51 ppg) to just 10 points tonight! Thanks to two of the leaders of that defense,Van Hellmann and Nate Stohl, for their time following No. 1 USC’s 14-10 win against No. 3 Bethel Park.

No perfect game, no no-hitter and no shutout today for Zach Hare. But Hare will still awfully good in leading Riverside to its second PIAA title in three seasons and sixth overall. Caught up with Zach following Riverside's 4-2 win against Mount Carmel in the Class 3A final.
