Roger Ver (known as 'Bitcoin Jesus') faces extradition to the U.S. and a sentence of up to 109 years if he is convicted. His crime? He didn't commit one, but that doesn't matter in the age of American Lawfare. What Roger did do was promote a revolutionary decentralizing technology that radically empowers citizens, and disempowers central banks and governments. His advocacy enraged the regime in exactly the same way that Julian Assange's journalism did--and the regime responded with the same diabolical toolkit. Roger Ver deserves a pardon to end his legal nightmare. And we citizens of the West need him to get that pardon in order to return us to the principle of Equal Protection Under the Law. When a mammal dies, its fleas abandon it and leap to another. They’re programmed to do it, and they do it well. The sense you have that the wealth in our system is being drained is not your imagination. Ruinous taxation, rampant money printing, endless bubble-schemes in our markets—our civilization is being looted in preparation for replacement. The charges Mr. Ver faces are absurd: If you attempt to fully pay your taxes, supplying your accountants all the relevant information and instructing them to adhere to the law, you are not guilty of “tax evasion.” And if you send a return you believe to be complete through the mail, you are not guilty of “mail fraud.” Roger Ver is a political prisoner who faces 109 years in prison for crimes he clearly did not commit. The reason is as obvious as it is infuriating: his perspective on cryptocurrency and federal abuse of power are a threat to the tyrants who have highjacked our system and wish to continue unopposed. No one understands these forces better than Donald J. Trump, who has faced them head on. President Trump should think carefully about the nature of the opposition to a pardon for Mr. Ver. The era of lawfare will not be over until Roger Ver is a free man. No tax paying citizen is immune to the attack he faces. Please, Mr. President, end this nightmare for Roger, and for all of us.
