🚨 THIS WAS THE BIGGEST BOMB TO HIT BRITAIN SINCE WWII. In 1996, the IRA detonated a 3,300 lb lorry bomb in the heart of Manchester, just as the city was hosting Euro '96. More than 75,000 people were evacuated before the explosion, and despite over 200 injuries, nobody was killed. It's still one of the most extraordinary emergency evacuations in British history.

A passenger refused to clear the marked wheelchair bay for a mobility-scooter user, and the tram erupted into a shouting match. Selfish and shameful. I researched this incident and assembled the relevant footage. I’m furious that a disabled man had to fight for the one marked space his scooter is meant to use. I’m disgusted that a blue accessibility sign became an argument. TfL’s rule is clear: wheelchair and mobility-scooter users have priority in that space. Every tram has a help point to reach the driver once stopped. I hate that the burden still fell on the passenger who needed the bay. The driver should be driving, not refereeing a row over a basic accessibility rule.

A man crossed the railway tracks at Bruce Grove to reach a woman who kept telling him to leave her alone. Brazen, dangerous and completely intolerable. My sister recorded this while waiting for a friend. I’m furious that an ordinary journey became an escape from a man who would not accept no. (Her first no should have ended it.) I researched what happened next. The station was staffed, but staff in the ticket hall were never alerted. An arrest was later made and extra patrols were sent to the station. I’m disgusted she had to depend on a stranger stepping in. I’m relieved somebody finally did.

🚨 HE THOUGHT HE'D GOT AWAY... HE FORGOT ABOUT THE DRONE. A 19-year-old drug dealer was caught dealing crack cocaine in a Middlesbrough park before trying to escape on an illegal e-bike. Police tracked him from above using a drone before undercover officers moved in and arrested him. More than 30 wraps of crack cocaine were seized. He later admitted drug dealing and other offences, receiving a two-year suspended prison sentence.

A 29-year-old Newport man is back behind bars after police recovered wraps of crack cocaine and heroin hidden inside his underwear during an arrest. Curtis Lewis was stopped after officers on patrol in Bettws became suspicious of the car he was travelling in. According to Gwent Police, he initially resisted arrest, leading officers to deploy PAVA spray before he was searched. During that search, Lewis produced two bags containing Class A drugs from inside his underwear. He later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin and was sentenced at Newport Crown Court on 13 July. Police say tackling drug supply remains a priority, warning that the trade fuels exploitation, addiction, and serious harm within local communities. They also urged the public to continue reporting suspected drug dealing, saying information from residents plays a vital role in bringing offenders to justice.
