She is already an elected councillor in Wythenshawe, now leads the Reform group on Manchester City Council, and comes from a real-world background in property, renovation and project management. Keir Starmer's resigned after under two years, and now joins the club of former PMs eligible for the £115,000-a-year Public Duty Costs Allowance for life. Since 2015, ex-PMs have claimed over £2.5 million through it. Major, Blair and Brown each banked more than £570,000. It's not a salary, and it's not illegal. But it's a perk no normal worker will ever get.
