Giannis, a homegrown hero. I never thought we’d be writing this. Giannis didn’t just play in Milwaukee, he is Milwaukee. A kid who came in skinny, quiet, and grateful… and left as a champion, an MVP, DPOY, Finals MVP, NBA Cup Champion, NBA Cup MVP, Bucks Franchise scoring leader, a legend. This is the same guy who did his own laundry because he didn’t want to bother anyone. The same guy who was genuinely shocked when the facility told him, “Nah, we got that for you.” That’s who he was, humble, even when the whole world was chanting his name. Reporters laughed at him for wanting to be the best in the world. He stayed when leaving would’ve been easier. He believed when nobody else did. And in 2021, he gave us something we waited 50 years for. Not just a ring. It was a moment, a memory, a feeling Buck fans will never forget. Now he’s asking for a new home… outside of Milwaukee and it hurts. Because we didn’t just watch him grow, we grew up with him. No boos. No bitterness. Just gratitude. And when you come back, we will NEVER boo you. We will be as loud as the day you won the Championship. Thank you for choosing us. Thank you for carrying us. Thank you for being you.
