Thank you very much for 14,000 followers! For those who are new here, 文武両道 (bunburyōdō) is a Japanese idiom that embodies the warrior, scholar mindset. 文 : Literature/culture 武 : Martial 両 : Both 道 : Road I’m British. I’ve lived in Japan since 2006. I’ve been practicing martial arts the whole time (focusing on iaidō and karare). So 20 years of martial arts experience in Japan. (Iaidō 4th dan. Black belts in 4 karate schools). I speak Japanese and I write about my experience in Japan. I also started running in 2020 and I frequently run extreme distance races called ultramarathons. When you run 100 km (or even 100 miles) your philosophical perspective changed on things. Thank you very much for choosing to follow me. I’ve been stuck at 13,000 for quite some time now. (Possibly due to drama). But now momentum seems to have picked up again. I’ve been trying to be better about following people back who support my work but obviously I can’t follow everyone. The video attached is a 夢想神伝流 (Musō shinden ryū) iaidō technique called 四方切り (Shihōgiri: Four direction cut)
