They tried filming The Cameraman in NY, but people kept noticing Buster & yelling his name, so they had to film early in the morning. You can see people in the background watching. They couldn't finish & filmed the rest in Cali. You can see the crowds watching in the last clip.

Buster Keaton rated this "Hard Luck" impossible gag from his shorts as one of his best. As Buster recalls it, the water in the tank was covered with paraffin, over which was pasted a wallpaper that looked like solid brick flooring. Buster dived through the supposed bricks.

July 20, 1937 At a Hollywood charity game, Buster Keaton stood open-mouthed to catch a ball dropped from a Goodyear blimp 2,000 ft up. The blimp pelted him with 500 balls—bouncing off his head—before kids swarmed the field for the baseballs, which were made of cotton.

This Day in Buster… February 1, 1966 Joseph Frank “Buster” Keaton passes away at his Woodland Hills home at the age of 70. A Service of Memory was held at the Church of the Hills. His influence in comedy and film has inspired generations and will continue to do so for many more.

This Day in Buster... January 24, 1925 The Daily News reports that Buster Keaton was hurt during the filming of "Seven Chances" "when a "property" rock fell from a wall on a motion picture set he was using. Keaton's thigh was pinned to the ground by the make-believe boulder."

June 29, 1956 The Kansas City Star prints an interview with Donald O'Connor: "Buster has taught me many of the falls, but there are a few I'm having trouble with. Like the teacup roll. That's where you do a backward somersault while holding a teacup in one hand and not spilling."
