Deputies responded to reports of a large injured bird in the roadway near U.S. 127 and Oxford Middletown Road in Milford Township. When they arrived, they discovered it wasn't just any bird—it was our nation's symbol, an American Bald Eagle. Deputies quickly contacted Shannon Frantz with Raptor Incorporated, who responded to safely retrieve the eagle and transport it for the specialized care it needs. The American Bald Eagle is more than just a protected species—it's a symbol of the strength, freedom, and spirit of our nation. We're grateful to our deputies and to Raptor Incorporated for helping ensure this national treasure gets a second chance. Here's hoping this majestic bird makes a full recovery and soars through our skies once again.
