🚨 Leaked audio: Somalia’s ambassador to Serbia and the recently appointed consul general are heard in a heated argument over the control and management of the embassy building Somali Embassy-Serbia. The ambassador Mohamed is heard refusing to allow the new consul, Gallad, into the embassy after he arrived. “This is not owned by Somalia. The government does pay rent to this house. Go to your home,” the ambassador is heard saying. “I told you. Do not come here. There is nothing exists here.” Gallad says he has nowhere else to go and begs with the ambassador to let him and his luggage in. The recording is another example of the disputes and rivalries that have affected the management of some Somali diplomatic missions.

🚨MOGADISHU: Somalia's terror group Al-Shabaab’s Amniyaat, the unit responsible for carrying out targeted assassinations, has resumed operations in Mogadishu, according to Somali intelligence source who spoke to us. The group carried out at least 6 assassination plots in Mogadishu during August alone, as per NISA figure. Security sources also say they are monitoring the reactivation of Al-Shabaab’s explosives unit known as 'Is tish-hadi', which they say has also returned to operations in the Somali capital. "THURSDAY'S SUPRSIRE PLOT" On the morning of Thursday, September 3, 2026, an unusual incident occurred in Section 2 of Kaxda district, Mogadishu where two members of Al-Shabaab’s Amniyaat unit attempted to assassinate Mohamed Ali Hassan, a plainclothes NISA officer from the Biyamaal clan. (CCTV video captured the moment of the failed assassination attempt). Mohamed survived the attack and managed to hit back one of the two Al-Shabaab assassins after the pistol they were carrying jammed. The incident in Kaxda is an example of what appears to be an increase in Al-Shabaab’s covert operations inside Mogadishu, following a period of calmness which the group had suspended its violent activities as part of an alleged settlement, that was never declared publicly. According to the sources, Al-Shabaab received approximately $7 million in payments from the Hassan Sheikh Mohamud administration a year ago. They claim the funds were a bribe for the terrorist group to keep off Mogadishu. Recently, the Mogadishu was trying to renew the settlement, but FGS budget shortage and foreign funding cut made the government unable to pay the group.

UPDATE: For the first time, clerics from the #Sufi sect and #Salafist groups united their voices in support of Somaliland–Israel ties. The Islamic scholars today warned that the misuse of religion and wrong "interpretation of Islam" to undermine #Somaliland peace and democracy. "It will not succeed," they said. The Muslim clerics also stated that the Houthis are #Iranian proxies and affirmed that the people of "Somaliland would defend themselves" if the Houthis were to attack Somaliland. They welcomed Israel's recognition of Somaliland as s positive and rightly decision. The statement amounts to a strong endorsement of Somaliland–Israel recognition.

This is General Abdullahi Ali Caanood, the spokesperson for the Somali Ministry of Defense declaring to mobilize insurgency groups within Somaliland, Jigjiga, and Godey. I am not going to provide word for word translation but in a concise summary of his statement, General Caanood revealed that they have initiated contact with former Somali soldiers in Hargeisa, Awdal, Jigjiga, and Godey, aiming to instigate insurgency activities from within. Additionally, he says efforts have been made to recall ex-Somali army members residing in the diaspora to return and join. When questioned about how a war with Somaliland/Ethiopia is realistic, he mentioned his men are going to utulize speed boats provided by EU Delegation Somalia and Arab countries to launch attacks on Zeila, a coastal city in Somaliland's Awdal region, with the intent of disrupting the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Somaliland and Ethiopia. And If you do not know about General Caanood, he is a Somali military general and ally of president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. Gen. Caanood is also the brother of hardline cleric "Sheikh Mustafa Ali Caanood" who recently announced a fatwa "authorizing the killing of Sufi followers in Mogadishu". To add to this. On 27 Nov 2023, EU Council said it had adopted an assistance measure worth €1 million to support the Somali National Army with military equipment designed to deliver lethal force (Statement: My humble question with a concern: Are the taxpayers of European Commission European Parliament European External Action Service - EEAS 🇪🇺 aware of this? “I have worked here for a long time. I have children. I raised my children through hardship. I am a mother,” says a woman shop owner at #Mogadishu’s Bakara Market. Her shop was broken into overnight while she was at home. When she returned this morning, nothing was left — the clothes were missing, there was no cash, everything was gone, and her shop had been demolished. Who did this? Armed men raided Bakara Market last night as part of an ongoing land-grabbing scheme under Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. This is the reality of #Somalia!

Yesterday, a small group of clerics in #Mogadishu called for a public demonstration against Somaliland Israel. This morning a very small number of people came out. Our journalists went to report and found that in less than 30 minutes the people disappeared. Most of them were young men, some with religious extremism in their minds. The crowd was even less than 200. No public support for such hatred-filled demonstrations nowadays. Do not forget this comes in less than 24 hours after armed police killed close to 10 civilians in the Dayniile district, of Mogadishu. Bodies are still at the mortuary.

#AUDIO: AL-SHABAAB TERROR GROUP LOOTS U.S WEAPONS DONATED TO SOMALIA The terrorist group Al-Shabaab has released an audio recording featuring Yusuf Kabakutukade, their Amir (leader) for the Middle Shabelle region. He spoke about yesterday’s fighting that took place in 4 locations on the outskirts of #Warsheekh, Middle Shabelle, about 61km from #Mogadishu. The four locations are: Jabad Godane, Ruun Shiikhow, Sheekhyaalo, and Buurka Kaah. - Many Somalis soldiers surrendered and later joined the militants, as confirmed by local sources. - Al-Shabaab Emir in this audio stated they captured a large quantity of weapons, vehicles, and drone equipment during yesterday’s attack. - Among the seized weapons, they said, were arms supplied by the #UnitedStates Government to the Federal Government of Somalia. - Al-Shabaab admitted that there were collaborators working with them, from whom they purchased weapons in exchange for money. - This Shabaab emir stated: “The men you think are missing are with us.” He was referring to soldiers who fled #Warsheikh yesterday—previously believed to be trapped—but who instead defected and joined the group. - He also claimed that some government soldiers who defected to Al-Shabaab were given cash and sent abroad (possibly Europe). This, he said, is sufficient evidence that Al-Shabaab purchases weapons directly from government forces. Somali MPs oppose the planned deployment of Egyptian soldiers. One of them, MP Suhur Haji, highlighted the role the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) played in Somalia's security when the civilian population was most at risk. "We cannot accept the deployment of Egyptian soldiers, who are far from us, and when Egypt has no real interest in us. Ethiopia and Egypt have their own conflict over the Nile waters. We do not want to be used in a proxy war," she said. The MP praised Ethiopia as a neighboring and brotherly country that helped the Somali state when Somalis needed it most.

SOMALILAND - ISRAEL RECOGNITION: A Somaliland cleric in Erigabo on Friday dedicated his sermon to exposing Chinese Communist Party #CCP abuses against Uyghur Muslims in China, at a time when #Somalia’s Mogadishu administration continues to maintain close ties with Beijing. Sheikh Said Arale, a prominent cleric in Sanaag region, also spoke out against #Mogadishu’s attempt to use religious rhetoric to oppose the Ethiopia–Somaliland Memorandum of Understanding in 2024, warning against the politicisation of Islam. He further cautioned against using Islam to incite the public against Israel, stressing that religion should not be exploited for political and extremist mobilisation. The Erigabo imam strongly endorsed Somaliland–Israel recognition, describing it as “a political decision intended to foster cooperation.” He concluded by calling on Somalilanders to remain united and protect peace and stability in their country.

🚨Not long ago, I predicted that southern #Somalia would fall and that the country would further fragment. That was three years ago. Listen to President Abdirahman Faroole’s speech today in #Kismayo. The Somali senator, who is well informed, has confirmed that Al-Shabaab terrorists are at the gates of #Mogadishu and that many evicted youths in the capital are being recruited by the militant group. He warned that after Somaliland’s breakaway in 1991, Puntland and Jubaland could follow suit unless Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is stopped—a warning he directed at politicians in coming from #Mogadishu. Faroole further confirmed that Al-Shabaab’s real-estate investments are expanding in Mogadishu and that money laundering has reached alarming levels in the Somali capital.
