To clarify the 5 Billion Naira Allocation for Palliative to various states of the Country, Plateau State Government has received 2 Billion which includes a 52% grant component and 48% loan component. Part of the 5 billion Naira, we have been mandated to use 1 billion Naira to buy rice locally. This is to ensure that money circulates within the local economy. Along with the allocation, 3,000 bags of rice was received and has been shared to the Local Governments and I want to pledge my honor that not a single kobo of the 5 billion Naira will be misused. We have also set up a committee which will advice the Government on possible palliative options which we will look at so that it covers the wide spectrum of the society. We will be looking at issues like improving the bursary of our students, getting fertilizers at a subsidized rate for our farmers and all the other components we can look at within the constraint of the resources at our disposal. By the Grace of God, we will do this responsibly.

Yesterday, we received Mr. Peter Obi at Little Rayfield on a visit to commiserate with Plateau people, over the recent unprovoked attacks particularly in Mangu and Riyom Local Government Areas. Mr. Peter Obi had since yesterday proceeded to celebrate his 62nd birthday with the IDPs in Mangu LGA. We are grateful for this kind gesture, and are reminded that in one spirit, whatever affects a part affects all. I want to reassure the people of Plateau State that we are doing everything possible to bring this menace to an end. By the Grace of God, we are returning Plateau to its throne of glory in no distant time.

My dear people of Plateau State, I address you on the tragic incident in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North, with a heavy heart, expressing my deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and extending my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, while wishing the injured a speedy recovery. I assure you of the swift and decisive actions taken to restore calm, including strengthened security measures and ongoing efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice. I also reaffirm my administration’s commitment to supporting victims and their families during this difficult time. I urge us all to remain calm, vigilant, and united as we work together to preserve the peace, security, and harmony of our dear state.

Today, I thank God Almighty for His grace and mercy in validating my victory in the March 8, 2023 elections by the Supreme Court. The people of Plateau State freely gave me their mandate and I will not let them down. I also thank the Supreme Court of Nigeria for upholding the rule of law and the will of the people. Their Lordships have shown courage and integrity in delivering justice to the ordinary man in Nigeria. I appreciate Mr President for his democratic leadership and his respect for the judiciary. He has proven that he is a true statesman and a champion of the people's votes. I am grateful to the people of Plateau State for their unwavering support and trust. I also thank Nigerians and the international community for their solidarity and encouragement. Together, we will build a better Plateau State and a stronger Nigeria. To God alone be all the glory.

Today, 14th April 2025, we have just concluded an expanded security council meeting comprising security chiefs and local government chairmen, convened in response to the attack that came to our attention early this morning. At around midnight, into the early hours of today, over a hundred bandits descended on one of the communities in Bassa Local Government Area, leaving behind a trail of destruction numerous lives lost and several houses destroyed. We have received detailed briefings from the heads of the various security agencies regarding the incident. We are working diligently to establish exactly what happened and why, so that we can respond appropriately and prevent such incidents in the future. At the moment, the situation in the area is relatively calm. We have engaged with the affected community, urging the people to remain calm and avoid any retaliatory actions that could further escalate tensions. We are grateful that the youths of the community listened to our appeal. We are currently considering far-reaching decisions aimed at preventing future occurrences. The details of some of these decisions will be shared during my broadcast tomorrow. In the meantime, I want to reassure the people of Plateau State that we are firmly in control of the situation, and we will go to any length necessary to prevent a recurrence. I also want to encourage citizens across the state: if you come across any intelligence no matter how insignificant it may seem please report it to the authorities. We are committed to protecting the sources of information, ensuring that no life is at jeopardy. We recognize that without timely and sufficient intelligence, we cannot respond as effectively as needed. By God’s grace, we are working to strengthen our capacity for intelligence gathering. Meanwhile , we continue to pray that God will comfort the families of those who lost their lives in this tragic incident.

I want to thank all of you for this rousing welcome back home. What it has done for me is that it has energized me, it has provoked me that for the rest of my life by the Grace of God, I will live for the interest of Plateau. I will ensure that by the Grace of God what God has destined for Plateau, I will make sure that day and night I will work hard to make it a reality, that God enabling me, we will end the insecurity in Plateau. Plateau people deserve better. Plateau will become a state where people will desire to come and stay within her borders. This judgement is historic and highly significant in the political journey of Plateau State. It is the rebirth of a new Plateau where God has demonstrated his sovereignty as the owner and giver of power.

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in the Jos High Court validated my return as the duly elected candidate of the 18th March 2023 Governorship election in Plateau State. I want to thank God Almighty who made it possible; I want to thank the people of Plateau State who have stood by us. I want to thank the Lordships for having the heart to do according to the detects of their conscience and according to the law. To the people of Plateau State, I want to say the Hope they have placed in me is not mistaken, and by the Grace of God, we will deliver on this Hope. We will become more proactive in the days to come and with the programs we have started, we will accelerate them and ensure we will move at the best speed that we can to deliver. THIS INDEED HAS BEEN A GORY CHRISTMAS FOR US” We have had to celebrate Christmas with a heavy heart. Unprovokeded attacks were unleashed on several of our communities. Most of the communities attacked in Barkin Ladi share Borders with Bokkos Local Government. We have not less than 17 communities that were completely touched and brought down by these Bandits and Criminals. It has been a very terrifying Christmas for us on the Plateau. This particular set of attacks was well-coordinated with heavy weapons. The Security agencies must do their work to be able to identify who are the sponsors of these attacks. We will push them to be able to unravel all those responsible for these attacks. Until we cut off the supply in terms of sponsorship, we may never be able to see the end of this. I will meet with the president today and give him accurate reports. The Army Headquarters has responded. The IG has also responded and more reinforcements are being sent. I urge everyone to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities for prompt security response. We must stay united to defend our communities. Plateau is the home of Peace and Tourism and by God's grace it will remain so.

I like to say that we are quite fortunate on the Plateau. It was a pleasant surprise when Her Excellency called and said she is burdened by the troubles on the Plateau. I was privileged to be among the First Governors to also have an audience with Her Excellency. I am glad that she took to heart the concerns I made about the troubles on the plateau. We have laid behind us the elections; we must govern with the fear of God, justly, equitably for all in society. I know that we have had many programs by First Ladies that have made an impact in this nation, but I am confident that the Renewed Hope Initiative is going to surpass them all. We are therefore privileged to be among the first beneficiaries of this wonderful initiative. The state government was able to come up with the list from the six local governments of Mangu, Bokkos, Riyom, Barkin Ladi, Jos South, and Bassa. The N500 million will be disbursed under the Renewed Hope Initiative and Social Investment Programme, with one million Naira allocated to each of the 500 affected families.

This is the day the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. The victory at the Supreme Court was not just one for the PDP but for the people of Plateau State. We must not behave like the ten lepers, we must return quickly and give praise to God who made it possible. This service was held in remembrance of our Fallen Heroes. We want to thank God for those Great men and women who devoted themselvess to the service of the nation. Unfortunately, we have not done well in looking after those who have served the nation appropriately, And I am praying that as a nation, we will do better in looking after those who have served the nation valiantly. For those of you who are still serving, we want to encourage you to continue to devote yourselves to the best of your conscience and ability to protect lives and properties. As an institution, the armed forces are very crucial and central to the survival of every nation, and I must admit, like every institution in Nigeria, things have not been well. As a government, we will continue to provide the necessary tools and enabling environment for the Armed Forces to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities of protecting the lives and property of citizens in the State. I will continue to advocate that the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces will insist on the return to true professionalism within the armed forces and the security agencies, and I am sure when we begin that journey, it will be worthwhile.

We are grateful to the President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was represented by the Vice President Kashim Shettima for treating the situation in Plateau State as an urgent one. I appreciate the Vice President for stating how deeply shaken they are by the heinous killings of the people of plateau state. We cannot pardon what has happened and when I spoke with His Excellency, the President, my cry to him was that the shedding of blood on the Plateau must stop. The recent happenings were totally uncalled for, unprovoked and barbaric. We know that these killings were not done by ghosts and the Federal Government has to fish out these perpetrators. I have discussed with Mr President and there are many decisions we have taken and agreed upon and I will not rest until those decisions are implemented. We will do everything to right the wrongs of the past and make sure that people that are in immediate need of mediate health care will be attended to. I have been praying for this day that we the leaders of the plateau will become united and I want to believe the seed of that unity has been sown.

I received the Manufactures association of Nigeria (MAN). Undoubtedly, the significance of the manufacturing sector in any state cannot be overstated. MAN plays a pivotal role in facilitating the transition from a mere seller of produce to an economy with value addition. I commend their resilience and determination in sustaining their presence in the manufacturing sector amid our country's challenges. In Plateau, we remain committed to enhancing the business environment, particularly for manufacturers, to flourish. We anticipate the return of the Coca-Cola production line to Jos, and we are committed to collaborating on any necessary actions. On behalf of the government and the people of Plateau State, I appreciate UNICEF for their swift response and the interest they have shown in the calamity that has befallen us, their intervention has given us hope. As a government we will continue to collaborate with all our international partners and make sure we maximize all the services they can render to our people.
