Scottie Scheffler on how the fans treated Wyndham Clark in the final round: "The crowd was tough today. I mean, New Yorkers, they are tough people. There was a good turnout from the fans. You like seeing the fans cheer for you. I think sometimes it can get a little too much when, you know, balls are kind of going off greens and you start hearing cheers. That felt a bit much to me. "Being in the arena is not for everybody, and I think it shows a lot about Wyndham, how he handled not only this golf course but I think the crowd today as well and is a well-deserving champion."

Scottie Scheffler compared his warmup Monday to that of a college event "I tried to stick to my routine, but obviously it's a bit different when you're there on a Monday and kind of all your normal stuff isn't there like, just for more of a logistics perspective. Like, doing your warm-up, it kind of felt a little bit like a college event again, where you're trying to find someplace in the clubhouse where you can stretch out."

Cameron Young was asked what it was like to get a thumbs up from President Donald Trump after his victory Sunday at the Cadillac Championship: "It’s very unique. He's nothing if not a very, very interesting man. He's very powerful, and it's an honor to get to play in front of him. Hugely grateful to him and his family and his organization that has these beautiful properties and allows us to come and play great golf tournaments on them. "This is a special place and great championship golf course, I'm thankful to have it back in the schedule."

Loved this from Miles Russell on what he's learning from the pros at 17 years old: "How boring they play. You watch them play and you're, like, man, this guy plays pretty boring, and at the end of the round, you're seeing the score and he shoots like 65. You're like I did not see you shooting 65 out there, but it's just so kind of ho-hum and a lot of fairway greens. It's nothing special. "Then when they have those special rounds, they'll go out and shoot 63, 62, and you say, that was fun to watch, and you shake their hand at the end of the day. I mean, it's just I think that's probably the biggest thing I've kind of learned from watching."

Wyndham Clark was asked how he feel the perception of him has changed since the locker room incident at Oakmont. "I've gotten a lot of grief since last year, rightfully so. The thing that's unfortunate is that's not who I am, what happened last year. "I'm hoping I can win back the fans that I had or some new fans because it was a terrible incident. You know, I really feel like I can show people that I'm fun and outgoing, I'm fierce, competitive, love the game, respect the game, and I just had a bad moment. Hopefully I can win those people back. "I definitely feel like I'm in a better place. Hopefully a great weekend and great rest of the year, maybe I'll gain all those fans back."

Wyndham Clark on how much heckling he heard from fans during the final round of the U.S. Open: "They definitely didn't want me to win. It's pretty rare in an (U.S.) Open Championship or a major to have fans kind of boo against your shots or cheer for bad shots. "Rhat was tough, but I also like -- Sometimes being the underdog is nice. I was in '23, and I kind of did the same thing. Anytime someone said something negative to me, I replaced it with something positive. You know, some of it's self-deserved. I kind of brought it on myself, but I also get it, too. Scottie was going for the career Grand Slam, and it hasn't happened very often. "I'm proud of myself that I battled through. Things really could have gotten away from me. I stood tough. I would have liked to have won by more, but as long as you win, it doesn't matter."

Gary Player was asked what advice he would give to Tiger Woods: "Do I blame him for taking medicine? Hell, no. He has sleep deprivation. Do I blame him for taking something to help him sleep? No. But I don't think he should drive a car. When you're taking that medicine, it's dangerous when you're driving a car, same as it's dangerous when you look at your cell phone in the car. There's 6,000 accidents a day in motor cars. "So I think all he's got to do is just not drive a car and get a chauffeur. My reflexes, I think, are as good as when I was 20, but I don't drive anymore. I get a chauffeur. I think that's the answer to it."

Justin Thomas credits his wife for helping him get mentally prepared for his 65 on Sunday at the PGA. "I vented and kind of got everything off my chest to my wife Jill last night. Credit to her, she gave great advice. She was like, well, use that tomorrow. She's seen me play pissed off. I've done it in Ryder Cups a lot, and it's like sometimes it brings a little different energy and different side out of it. "So I've got to give her a lot of credit for that because I tried to use that out of my finish and round today to play today and shoot as low as I could."

Matt Fitzpatrick was asked about his reaction to the crowds down the stretch at the RBC Heritage: "It didn't get out of line in terms of no one was shouting on backswings or anything like that, which was great. I'm all for it. I love the people -- they're supporting Scottie; that's great. You want golf to have an atmosphere in my opinion. I grew up watching football. I'm paid so much money to be out there in front of those crowds, having them chanting at you every week, it's great feeling. "However, there's no better feeling than coming out on top against that. There isn't a better feeling."

Justin Thomas has a new putter in the bag this week. Where did he get the idea? Cameron Young. "I literally texted Cameron's guys and said, Just give me Cam's putter. I've been watching him make putts for a pretty good amount of time now, and I've always thought it looks really good, so I was like, I want Cam Young's putter. Coincidentally, I get paired with him this week and we had the exact same shoes on yesterday, and it's like, I promise I'm not trying to copy everything you do. But I'm maybe trying to copy everything you do, I don't know."

Scottie Scheffler called Friday's pin locations at the PGA Championship "kind of absurd." "This is the hardest set of pin locations that I've seen since I've been on Tour, and that includes U.S. Opens, that includes Oakmont. I did ask, I asked Fooch, who caddies for Justin Rose. He's been around a long time -- and I asked Teddy too -- have you seen anything like this before? They said maybe Shinnecock is the only place they have seen that has pins that could compare to this."

Viktor Hovland on the crowds at the Travelers: "It was amazing. Obviously the home crowd was rooting for Scottie, he's the best player in the world, we're in the United States of America, that goes, that's just kind of how it goes. But I thought it was super exciting. The crowds were super respectful and it just really motivated me to play better. Obviously with some Norwegian jerseys out there it brought the vibes, and I think the American crowds thought it was cool as well. I thought it made the event a lot more enjoyable, I think. So, yeah, it was just a blast to play at a great golf tournament, a great golf course, in front of great fans. And, yeah, it was an absolute blast."

Wyndham Clark on the crowds (or lack of) down the stretch: "It was kind of unfortunate that we're finishing in the dark and people weren't really out there because there were some obviously key, big moments, and it did kind of get a little flat, so yeah, unfortunately. "Hopefully tomorrow there's a bunch of fans and stuff, but for me, it's still really important, and I still felt the moment. It's just maybe unfortunate that there weren't all the people there."

Scottie Scheffler has had to learn to bargain with son Bennett recently. "Last night we were leaving a Nike party and he somehow ended up with two sugar cookies and he hadn't eaten his dinner yet. I was like, 'all right, buddy, if you eat these sausages, I will give you this cookie.' He's like, 'cookie.'

It was kind of demoralizing a little bit. It was like, damn, when I play good, I don't think I have that in me. "He's a lovely guy, really down to earth, which I'm happy about. Brooks Koepka has sat and waited to get into the last two signature events as an alternate only to head home Thursday after not getting into the events. It's not the first time in his career it happened, but he also is understanding of the position he is in. Koepka is playing in Myrtle Beach this week. "The way I look at it is I'm itching to get in, but I'm accepting of where I'm at, and I understand that there's prices to pay for coming back, and I'm willing to accept those and whatever I have to do. "I knew this year was going to be challenging to even get in them. I kind of thought maybe by around U.S. Open, but to know that I'm kind of knocking on the door already is a good thing. Just the answer to everything is play better, and you're in."

Rory McIlroy spoke with media on Wednesday for the first time since winning the Masters. He told a funny story about Poppy at Augusta National. "I think for Poppy it sort of seems normal for her now to just go into Butler Cabin at the end of the day and have a grilled cheese and talk with the chairman." "We were flying back on the Monday afterwards and she always has a tennis lesson on Monday afternoon, and I thought OK, maybe today we can bin the tennis lesson. And she's like, 'No, I want to play tennis.' And I'm like, 'Sure, let's go, let's do it.' So as soon as we get home she's the one that rules the roost."
