Decided to be a responsible adult and brave the Arizona surface of the sun heat to wash my car… pull up to a red light and realize the entire city has collectively lost its damn mind. Windows down, AC blasting, and every single driver is mid-solo, full-body dancing like the “heatstroke” just hit and the only cure is poorly timed car choreography. We made eye contact. We synchronized. Then we all noticed the corner. For one glorious, sweaty, slightly concerning red light, Tucson became a mobile dance party of people who have clearly given up on dignity and chosen good vibes instead. I ended up washing the car. The car did not wash the trauma away of watching a dude in shorts hit the “grapevine” at roughly 108 degrees, creating a TikTok dancing video, flashing thighs on the corner at flame o’clock in the morning. 😂

Another night with shootings and noise that should NOT be where I am. Had it not been for someone staying on the phone with me, as I hid in my walk in closet with my dog and a gun, I would have flipped out. Literal shotgun shots outside of my home, sirens everywhere. It is time for me to leave this city. No one should have to live like this, no one. Thank you for keeping me calm and staying with me, you know who you are. Just to put things into perspective, this is now almost a daily thing. I’m sharing a video of just ONE instance. I can’t hide this any longer, and I can only hide behind laughter for so long. Everyone needs to know what we are living with. When this nightmare hits your area, you will understand what we are going through down here at our Arizona border city. It’s too late to close the border, they’re already here.

Trust me, if you can read and understand this, you will laugh as hard as I did!! New grad calls me at 22:48 voice already cracking: “Wendy… Wendy I need you. I have a 36 year old who just coded. Or is coding. Or is about to code. His blood pressure is 338 over 143.” I said, “THREE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-EIGHT?! His mean is 207. That’s not even a number that exists.” I know, that’s why I already pulled the crash cart, I’m about to call the rapid, the resident, the attending, and the house supervisor. His SpO₂ is 100% and his heart rate is 84, but that arterial wave line is just SCREAMING at me and the waveform looks like it’s having a seizure and I think his aorta is about to explode out of his chest and land on the floor and I don’t know if I should start pushing levo or nipride or both at the same time or just start chest compressions preemptively. I cut her off. “First off all, calm down and chill out. Second, unplug the machine and try it again while I’m on the phone with you.” … … … Seventeen full seconds of pure radio silence. Then, very quietly: “…It was 118/76. Thank you.” Click. I haven’t laughed that hard in forever! Poor girl. 😂🤣

Heard a racket outside and found the Neighborhood Trash Demolition Team active across the street. RIP to my neighbor’s driveway; the front yard javelina rave is in full swing across the street, and my neighbor is about to have the worst morning ever. This is why you don’t leave trash bags out, people! Put them in the actual bin or get a motion light for the side of your house. Tucson javelinas, aka the mad munchers, do not play games, and they will absolutely tear you up and fight you for a half-eaten burrito.
