Sadly I have received another report of more damage in Cork from the thunderstorms that hit Sunday night along with a downburst wind. This home and neighboring property in Unionhall Cork were badly damaged. A weather station in Ringaskiddy did record a sudden and dramatic wind gust.

We finally look to have a long settled spell of weather ahead as lows give way to high pressure building near Ireland. After some showers today and Saturday we will see very little rain for 7-10 days. Good sunny spells but temperatures a little cooler.

Here comes the real heat for Portugal, Spain and France from the weekend into early next week. Spanish Met Service has issued warnings for an unusual heatwave. The second half of the video shows France and some of England and Ireland. However Ireland won’t see much of this hot weather but it will be a warm weekend and Monday here with a lot of cloud. If heading to the hotter spots take care. Yes it’s summer before the usual comments come😂
