I was asked to honor the “Song of the Year,” which happened to be “Weren’t For The Wind” by Ella Langley and the incredible writers and publishers behind it. This was one of my favorite songs from the past year, so I was honored to get to put my own spin on it last night!

12 years ago, I played the 4th ever Song Suffragettes show in Nashville - a night dedicated to empowering female artists and songwriters and giving us a place to share our songs. Last night was one of the most full circle moments of my career, being honored as this year’s Yellow Rose Honoree. Hearing those girls, who reminded me so much of myself all those years ago, sing my songs and share how my music has impacted them… I don’t even have the words. Sitting on that stage again, the same one I once sat on so many times wondering if anyone would ever hear my songs, and now getting to be an example to all of the dreamers that it can work out. Sometimes God writes our stories better than we ever could have imagined. Thank you for this honor. I’m so proud to be a woman in country music 🤍
