It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of Britt Allcroft. The Allcroft-Wright family has asked me to bring this news to the Thomas fandom. A full obituary will be released in the London Times later today. The family is currently in mourning and asks that their privacy be respected at this time. Britt was an adoring mother and wife. A visionary producer. She brought so much joy and happiness to people everywhere during her time on Earth. Over the years of knowing Britt, we developed a close connection. It was truly a privilege to have her as both a mentor and a friend, and I’m so glad that so many fans were able to meet her at the New York screening of “An Unlikely Fandom”. It was an absolute honor to have her in our documentary, and she has since remained a vocal supporter of our cause. I think I can speak for the entirety of the fandom when I say that all of us will deeply miss her. Without her, so many of us would never have met. As a way to honor Britt's legacy, her family as asked that you consider making a charitable donation to your local chapter of the ASPCA in Britt's name. While I am devastated by her passing, we can all find comfort in the certainty that her legacy will endure forever through Thomas and his fans around the world. Rest in Peace.

For the last few months — I have been editing a project with an amazing team. Because of this project, my team and I are going to attempt to save any media that we can — so the fans can enjoy it. These assets will help us finish the definitive Allcroft cut of Magic Railroad.

John Bellis and John Hollis in the recording booth. This is the infamous “John Thomas” joke.

We just hit $1K in donations for our Magic Railroad project. As a special “Thank You,” here’s your first look at The Magic Railroad: Director’s Cut. Both Children's Television Archive (Joseph Marshall) and I are grateful for your support. Maybe another clip at 2K? 👀

One year ago today, we did our first experiment restoring the original voice cast to Thomas and the Magic Railroad. Using the film's stereo mix (with vocals poorly removed) and newly recovered ADR MP3s, this proof of concept showed us it could actually work. We've come so far.

Pulled this tape out of storage and transferred it. This trailer is such an oddity.

Re: THOMAS in HD... We completed two full episodes with our new upscaling settings: Buzz, Buzz / Down the Mine Buzz, Buzz was fun because the bee cell was redone in 4K resolution by Adamski2851. Take a look at the side-by-side. We have the tech, just need the job. 👀

it’s kinda insane that this is already going beyond our little fandom

Since we can’t share this on our Magic Railroad account, I’ll share this here. This is a quick look at the temp music for the original test screening of Magic Railroad — synced to our Feb 22nd, 2000 VHS tape (which does not have finished VFX). It feels wrong, but right!
