Groucho is 17 years old, with failing kidneys, fading eyesight, and high blood pressure, but he still loves to play. It’s just that I sometimes have to wave the wand toy for a couple of minutes, or throw half a dozen toys instead of just one, before he will go for it. Cats are so good at compensating that they can go completely blind and their people don’t even notice for a while. Groucho can still see, but these days he responds better to toys with lights and sounds. He loves the laser as much as ever, even if he no longer does parkour in pursuit of it. #CatsOfTwitter #CatsOfX #SeniorCat

I’m so glad Harpo got to experience having several sea monsters in the last year of his life. It was a huge wrench to finally delete the saved search on eBay. Every morning, the first thing I did was check those notifications. Someone beat me to one of them, but the next one was actually listed with the name Harpo! I asked the seller why that was, and she said she had just heard that name was associated with it. When I told her that the official name from Hallmark was Pops, and that Harpo was my cat, she thought that was very funny, and was delighted that he ended up with the one she mistakenly listed under his name. #CatsOfTwitter #CatsOfX #grief

I hate to wash the last of Harpo out of that bed, but it's at the point where I really have to. Their return appointments are scheduled for 12/8 (Tram, Ticket, Subway, and Briefcase) and 12/17 (Airport, Passport, and Suitcase.) Those three will come back home after being neutered if I can add enough subscribers between now and the 17th to make that a viable proposition. I thought I’d only have these babies for a week or two. I’m so glad that wasn’t the case. #fosterkittens #adoptdontshop
