Would somebody inform newby Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin that troops from the 82nd and 101st Airborne were deployed to Detroit in 1967 to quell civil unrest? That 6,000 federal troops were deployed to Deroit in 1943 to quell civil unrest? Helps to know the place you represent.

ALERT: Another Media hoax Trump: "Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she's (Harris) your president." The local press and politician are going berserk here in Michigan. The Outrage! (Watch the Harris commercial during the Lions/Cowboys game today.) Except it's fake. A 6 second clip was ripped from 7,380 seconds of Trump's speech delivered to the Detroit Economic Club last week, and disseminated by a bumptious blowhard who thinks his colonoscopy is worthy of a tweet. But look closer (or watch below). As has become custom with the increasingly irrelevant media, Trump's statement was taken wildly out of context. Trump spoke at great length and quite clearly about how the auto industry thrived here until politicians, greedy corporate leaders, their lobbyists and the gullible media pushed for terrible trade deals that have allowed foreign nations to come in and take our markets, jobs and factories. Trump rattled off tariffs on US products in other countries. He rightly said this was happening not only with cars but with other American products with no reciprocal pushback from US political and business leaders. He railed against neo-liberal/neo-con globalists who are destroying our country's manufacturing base and gutting our cities. That, if we let them keep going, America ad a whole will suffer as Detroit has. That was his point. About an hour into his speech, Trump said if you elect Harris, you'll get more of the same: "Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she's your president." The media ripped this 6 seconds and presented it in isolation. Misleading snippets. Ugly stuff. A true threat to democracy. What the press does not report: On Monday, before Trump's speech, ~2,500 Chrysler workers in Warren, Michigan were shown the door by their corporate masters, now headquartered in Europe. On Friday, after Trump's speech, ~2,000 Detroit Jeep workers we're put on extended "temporary" layoff. The press plays political games. And the corrupt politicians take them to lunch. They're running a hustle on us. I have attached the mayor of Detroit's tantrum tweet. Let's fact check him: + Detroit's crime data is heavily massaged to put it generously. Nevertheless, the Motor City remains rated as America's second most dangerous city. + Detroit's population would continue to be sinking if it weren't for the influx of illegal immigrants. + Detroit's tax revenues, when adjusted for inflation, are less than they were during the year of its historic bankruptcy. + Meanwhile, property taxes remain the highest of any major American city, and the schools among the worst. You are correct Mr. Mayor. You did that all by yourself.

If you want to live forever, then register to vote in Jocelyn Benson’s Michigan. Apparently, there are 16,666 people actively registered to vote who are over the age of 100 years old. That’s more than the population of Grosse Pointe Woods. The only problem is, the Social Security Administration shows there were only 2,119 centenarians alive in Michigan in 2023. Now, I only went to public schools, but even I know simple math. 16,666 ≠ 2,119 Secretary of State Benson is a trained lawyer. She likely chose that profession because she is bad with numbers, but good at twisting words. On the other hand, Elon Musk builds rocket ships because he’s good at math and science. Real science. Not political science. So for whatever reason, Benson pitched an online cat fight with Musk—and got her own numbers wrong. Earlier this week, Musk tweeted a simple question that can be answered with simple addition and subtraction: “Michigan has more registered voters than eligible citizens? Is that true?” he wrote. Benson fired back with customary histrionics: “Let’s be clear: Elon Musk is spreading dangerous disinformation. Here are the facts. There aren’t more voters than citizens in Michigan. There are 7.2 million active registered voters and 7.9 (million) citizens of voting age in our state. Musk is pushing a misleading number that includes 1.2 million inactive records slated for removal in accordance with the law. Don’t feed the trolls.” It is the trolling secretary who is, in fact, incorrect. Her mathematical errors are many. First, her own website shows the number of inactive voters slated to be removed from the qualified voters list is only 600,000, not 1.2 million, as she claims. Second, until they are removed, those “inactive” voters are still active by law, and at any rate, won’t be removed until after the election. Third, there are not 7.9 million citizens of voting age in the state of Michigan. There are 7.9 million adults, not all of whom are legally allowed to vote. Sheesh. It feels as though Benson considers herself the kaiser of the town square. Remember: She set up an election disinformation snitch line. She illegally instructed poll workers to disregard signature discrepancies. She attempted to ban firearms from polling stations. She tried to kick Dr. Cornell West off the ballot while keeping RFK Jr. on the ballot because this would ostensibly help Kamala Harris. National Democrats—with the help of Benson—kicked in a million dollars to get overseas citizens absentee ballots even if they’ve never lived in the U.S. Benson claims there are as many as 265,000 such persons living abroad. The online form for requesting and overseas absentee ballot is ludicrously simple. It requires no Social Security number, no valid state ID, no passport number, no next of kin. Just check the box swearing you are a citizen and she will email you a ballot. You then print the ballot, fill it in, and return it by snail mail. That’s it. Curious, I filled one out as Sirhan Sirhan, DOB: 3/19/1944. Current address: Buckingham Palace. Family’s last known Michigan address: the dumpster near Detroit City Hall. That’s it. The website prompted me to electronically sign and press send. I assume the King’s footmen would have received my ballot. I didn’t sign the affidavit. That would be illegal. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel may be an incompetent boob, but she is also famously vindictive. For her part, Benson has made voting more confusing than easy during her six years in office. The election season now runs from two weeks before Election Day to six days after. Processing and tabulating the absentee ballots is now a full 8 days, making the process rife for skullduggery. Of course it is illegal to illegally vote. But it’s also illegal to commit armed robbery, and people still do I’ll say it again: If you want to live forever, then register to vote in Michigan. But be warned: You may end up dying waiting for you vote to be counted.

Sometimes a woman can use a good old dose of mansplainin’, especially when she’s fishing for a man’s vote. To wit(mer): Don’t go to a bar on a football Sunday and kick guys off their stools so you can order a 200-calorie beer that nobody drinks and pretend you didn’t know the microphones were there. “So my thing is,” Harris whispered to Whitmer and the eavesdropping press, “we need to move the ground among men.” Interrupting football is no way to impress the dudes. And if you absolutely must, then you should do what normal chicks do at the bar: Order a glass of Pinot Grigio or a cold can of High Noon (just 100 calories, no sugar, and gluten-free. Yummy!). But this election isn’t about the guys anymore, is it? They’ve decided, and Madam Harris has decidedly lost them, if the polls are to be believed. It’s the women she needs to convince. Specifically white women, the biggest voting block in the country. More specifically still, she needs to convince working-class white women. Who are working-class white women? The definition is contemptuous, indeed—those without a bachelor’s degree. The white women with college degrees, who write for failing media publications in the concrete canyons of Manhattan, call this divide “the education gap,” implying that working women are somehow less intelligent than their counterparts who hold a liberal arts degree in feminist theory. That is hardly the case. Rounding off for conversation’s sake, the White Collar Karens break 60-40 Democratic. Working Class Wendys go 60-40 Republican. And remember, there are approximately 8 million more Wendys than Karens. When you ask Wendy her concerns, she’ll tell you (and the pollsters) that it’s the economy first, then the border, and then foreign wars. When pollsters ask Karen, she says her top priority is abortion, then Trump, with the economy coming in a distant third. Who knows, maybe Wendy is more worldly than Karen, because Wendy lives in the real paycheck-to-paycheck world. She’s more tuned in to the market movements that push the price of electricity, gasoline, and taco meat to the point where it is nearly breaking her household. Wendy has no stock portfolio to fall back on. Her daddy can’t help her, because chances are good that he’s living in the guest room. Wendy remembers the Covid mandates and the bunk science that cost her kids their well-being, cost her mother her life, and have led her to work two jobs to keep up with inflation. Wendy wants change. More to the point: Wendy wants change in her pocketbook. It’s late in the game for the vice president, but it ain’t over. White Working Class Wendy will likely decide this election, so Harris might want to speak with her instead of bum-rushing Sunday Night Football. The vice president might learn something. When Wendy orders an expensive beer, she actually drinks it, because Wendy doesn’t have $12 to waste. But then again, Kamala Harris must know that. After all, she says she grew up in the middle class.
