Here’s nazir afzal at an event by Tender, the “healthy relationships” charity that received £3.4m in taxpayer funding (2020-24), and will be going into schools to teach kids about misogyny, off the back of Netflix’s Adolescence. Tender’s event (in February this year) was titled “How to be a Boy: conversations with men”. During the event Afzal said “the earlier that we can engage with young people and young boys”, the better, in regard to fighting misogyny. But what do we do about misogynists coming to this county as adults? Who won’t get PSHE lessons, supposedly the answer to misogyny in the UK. Men who have murdered, harmed and/ or raped women. I’ll give some examples: 2019-2020 - Janath Jabarkhail, an Afghan asylum seeker, raped two women 2020 - Azam Mangori, an Iraqi Kurd denied asylum but never deported. Killed 32-year-old woman in his flat above a kebab shop in Exeter and dismembered her body. 2022 - Cosmin-Nicolae Vasioiu, a Romanian who followed a woman walking home from a night out and raped her in a cemetery 2022 - 2023 - Sakhidad Ahadi, an Afghan asylum seeker who twice raped a vulnerable 12-year-old Albanian girl, who lived in the same Home Office-funded hotel 2022 - Maher Maaroufe, a Tunisian overstayer - ignored his deportation order. He stabbed his 19-year-old student girlfriend to death, leaving her almost decapitated. Also pleaded guilty to a charge of assault by beating an emergency worker. 2022 - Shahin Darvish-Narenjbon, an Iranian here illegally, who killed his 87-year-old “surrogate grandmother”, Brenda Blainey, in "circumstances of appalling brutality". 2024 - Abdul Ezedi, an Afghan asylum seeker who launched a chemical attack on a mother and her two daughters There are more examples —- Afzal, OBE, is the former Chief Crown Prosecutor and Chief Executive of the UK’s Police and Crime Commissioners. He’s also a man. What’s going to hurt women first out of grown men coming from the most misogynistic countries on earth - as shown by actual reality - versus a threat that had to be heightened via a Netflix drama?
