I'm not even a soccer guy, but I've been hooked to the World Cup. North America has done such a tremendous job hosting, that the World Cup should be in the United States on a steady rotation moving forward. We have infrastructure here that no other country in the world has, which makes us the perfect host country for such a great event. It's been amazing to see how much foreigners love being here. They've been lied to by the mainstream media, led to believe that our country sucks, but they're here and loving it. It's awesome. #WorldCup

Here’s what I’ve been told about Aldon Smith passing away today at 36 years old. He was dead on arrival at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, California. The 49ers have since confirmed the news. Smith was one of the most gifted players in the history of the NFL, but also one of the most troubled. RIP. Thoughts and prayers to his family. #49ers

🚨JUST IN: The 49ers will play the 1-seeded Seahawks in the divisional round on Saturday. It’s insane that the 49ers have to go on the road and play Seattle off their bye on a short week Saturday after traveling to Philadelphia. Yet, the Bears and Rams will play on Sunday, after they both just played on Saturday. How did that make any sense to anybody in the NFL office? #49ers

I went to Jason Garrett’s new restaurant in Dallas last night and he showed up. When I met him, I so badly wanted to say “Go Birds” and bust his balls about the Eagles’ recent success, but he’s actually a really cool dude and what I respect is he went up to every single table throughout the night, introduced himself, shook hands, laughed and conversed with customers. He also said “I can tell your from Philly. I love Philly, man.” So, if you’re in Dallas, hit up Caffe Luca. It’s an Italian, Sicilian themed spot and he paired up with a chef who has some Michelin rated places, so the menu is amazing. Jason’s recommendation: peanut butter espresso martini. Here at the Super Bowl, Mack Hollins is probably the best player to ask about to 49ers electrical substation theory. He said if he was on the team, he’d want the Niners to look into it and mentioned studies where EMF can impact the growth of plants and wonders what that does to humans #49ers

Some thoughts on the Dianna Russini - Mike Vrabel situation. At the very least, with both of them being married to other people, the photos are not a good look. Two major things also come into play here: conflict of interest and journalistic integrity. Russini is a senior NFL reporter for a major outlet. Her job is to gather intel and information from major NFL sources. She’s reported on the AJ Brown situation the most of any insider and the Patriots are the team mentioned the most as an AJ destination, and she’s seen holding hands and hugging Mike Vrabel, who’s had a close relationship with AJ for years and is the head coach of the Patriots. #NFL #Patriots #Eagles

REPORT: I talked to somebody tonight who’s worked as an athletic trainer for multiple NFL teams and we started talking about the 49ers injury history. This person said it’s pretty known in NFL circles among strength and conditioning people and physical therapists that the 49ers do things differently than other teams and they have their own philosophies when it comes to strength and conditioning, physical therapy and weight lifting. This individual knows of head athletic trainer Dustin Little and said he has his own style of things he teaches and incorporates with the 49ers weight lifting, movement techniques and training strategy. People across the league are aware of how the 49ers do things because it’s “their way” and they think this could be playing a big role into the Niners injury problems. It’s not to say that what Little incorporates is wrong or bad, it’s just different than what other teams do. Really interesting. #49ers #FTTB

🚨BLOCKBUSTER REPORT: The Eagles have made DT Jalen Carter available in a trade that could land them Maxx Crosby, according to the legend, RickyScoops. Raiders GM John Spytek and Howie Roseman worked together in Philadelphia. They made a trade together last year. If the Eagles are serious about landing Crosby, trading away the extension eligible Carter could help them land Crosby, without having to sacrifice major draft capital. The Eagles could then move forward by extending Jordan Davis and Moro Ojomo to be their DT’s of the future. Wild. #Eagles

Kyle Shanahan pretty much confirmed why the 49ers draft process is flawed and broken. On the Rich Eisen Show, he explained that he only has time to watch highlight packages of draft prospects for two months before the draft. That’s not abnormal for a head coach. Their job is to coach the team and the grind is non-stop from late July through January and February. But when Shanahan has as much personnel say as he does, and he’s the one making the picks, that’s when it becomes a problem because the 49ers aren’t leaning on the GM and scouting department who are scouting these prospects year-round. This is a big reason why the 49ers have missed so often in the draft and from 2020-23, the Niners drafted 27 players total, but only four got multi-year second contracts with the team. #49ers

The NFL did not do the 49ers any favors with the scheduling this week going into this HUGE game against the Bears. Bears beat the Packers on Saturday at home. 49ers played the Colts on Monday Night Football on the road in the eastern time zone. 49ers didn’t get home until early this morning and it’s Christmas week. Niners coaches are right back to work today. Bears also aren’t a familiar opponent. Big rest and scheduling advantage for the Bears. Can’t wait for this one on Sunday Night Football 🔥 🍿 #49ers
