AMAZING CONSERVATION NEWS - Highland tiger kittens born in the wild! 🐾🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 See the INCREDIBLE moment two litters of critically endangered wildcat kittens are spotted for the first time in Scotland. This is a HUGE milestone for the ambitious Saving Wildcats (#SWAforLIFE) project that we've supported for many years. One wildcat born here at the zoo, called Margaret, was relocated to Scotland to help with these conservation efforts and went on to have several kittens of her own. In total, 19 wildcats were released into Cairngorms National Park last year, and it's incredible to think that Margaret's offspring are part of this reintroduction to help the species fight back from the brink of extinction. #SWAforLIFE #saveourwildcats

A few years ago just 60 Desertas island land snails survived… but we’ve JUST reintroduced 1,300 to the wild 🌍 For 100+ years, they were thought to be extinct… then came a remarkable discovery! Just 60 were found on a tiny island in the Atlantic Ocean 🌊 They were flown to Chester where our experts worked to breed them for the first time ever in human care... and now the population has grown into the thousands! 📈 With the snails thriving, more than 1,300 have just been successfully reintroduced to Bugio Island - a protected wildlife haven in Maderia, Portugal. This has to be the comeback of the century! 🐌
