At around 3 a.m., a 3-year-old boy wearing only light clothes ran barefoot onto a cold street. He was shivering badly from the freezing weather. A food delivery worker saw him, stopped his work, and took the child to a warm place. A driver also helped by letting the boy sit in his car to warm up. Later, the police found out that the child’s mother had to work overtime, and when the boy woke up and couldn’t find her, he ran outside looking for her. The child’s parents thanked the two kind people, and the police gave them certificates of honor for their good actions.

Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), on Monday presented certificates of order to promote two military officers to the rank of general. The promoted officers are Yang Zhibin, commander of the Eastern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), and Han Shengyan, commander of the PLA Central Theater Command. Zhang Youxia, vice chairman of the CMC, announced the orders of promotion, which were signed by Xi, at a ceremony held for the promotion in Beijing. Zhang Shengmin, vice chairman of the CMC, presided over the ceremony. Xi extended his congratulations to the two generals. General is the highest rank for officers in active service in China.
