Tiruparuttikunram, near Kanchipuram, has been a Jain stronghold from as early as the Pallava times. The ceiling of the Sangita Mandapa in the Vardhamana temple is covered with paintings of the Vijayanagar and Nayak eras which showcase the lives of three Jain Tirthankaras.
