Because most golf courses, esp so in drought prone areas are designed to maximize water storage and are already strictly rate limited on how much public water they can use. They also become safe havens for wildlife in metropolitan areas. TPC Las Vegas is a great example. The entire course was designed with industry best management practices using natural drainage areas to collect stormwater runoff into the various ponds and it is then used later for irrigation across the course. Most of the time they do not even need their allowable amount of city water. Golf course superintendents are some of the most conservation conscious people I know and are using best management practices not only to save the course money in irrigation costs, but it also creates a naturally beautiful landscape that wildlife enjoy and golfers want to experience. Some raw video I took from a commercial video project I shot there few years back.

LaNorris Sellers gets hit in the head with targeting and between the hit on the field and the decision to review the play for targeting there was a total elapsed time of 1 Minute and 39.28 Seconds. This time carried over into the next play from scrimmage where Luke Doty had Nyck Harbor for a huge play, probably a touchdown was 2.64 seconds. What the hell were you doing for the first minute and a half while our QB was laying on his face after an obvious targeting. Such bush league ass officiating SEC Officiating #Gamecocks

Here's 14hrs of helicopter traffic from yesterday of the ongoing #Helene rescue effort in western North Carolina. Loop begins at 7:30am and goes through 9:30pm. Added in Hickory (KHKY) ATC traffic for some background noise. Unfortunately the LiveATC feed for Asheville approach was taken out by Helene as well. Also one huge thing to note here. Most of these helicopters are civilian.

Here's the ATC Audio for the tower controller handling the arrivals for Runway 26R at the time storms rolled across the airfield. There's a reason the tower controllers in Atlanta are among the best in the world. - Air France stuff begins about 1 minute in. - At 4:50 describes how crazy that was. Gets a god bless from a Delta pilot. - At 5:55 tower gets asked about Microburst detection. - At 6:35 Delta 660 says theyre shutting down the engines and controllers says everyone is shutting down except for Delta 1284 who had pax standing up while still on the runway. - At 7:20 Southwest 2353 needs to return to the gate but gets told they're stuck. This is all good stuff.
