This info already existed in the original, but not within the game itself; it came from an official Silent Hill 3 guide in a section called “Lost Memories,” which included information about the first three games. There, we finally learned that James was 29 years old and what his job was. However, in the remake, this aspect was developed much further. Based on the type of documents and metrics on his desk, we can see that it was a job involving repetitive tasks with no visible impact: processing data, reviewing reports, and filing projects—an extremely methodical and cold line of work. James was a corporate employee trapped in metrics, in a company that valued results rather than people. In real life, many people go through this, and it is exhausting.
