A bag thief, who was caught on CCTV taking just seconds to steal a bag in a pub in the City of London, has been sentenced to prison. Plain-clothed officers arrested the thief and his accomplice, after spotting the two men acting suspiciously at Leadenhall Market.

Aziz Chibani, 32, of Thrawl Street E1, made this brazen move to steal a bag from a pub in the City of London. The items inside the bag had a total value of around £1,660. Chibani pleaded guilty to theft and was given a 12-week sentence, suspended for 12 months.

Two thieves who tried to steal a bike locked up opposite a police station in broad daylight have pleaded guilty to theft. On 20 October 2025, around 1:30pm, the pair were spotted on CCTV trying to break a lock on a bike on Bishopsgate. Read more here:

Around 5,000 counterfeit items and £40,000 in cash were seized by Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit during raids at a shop and residential address in west London on Thursday. Boxes of counterfeit perfume, bags, hats and homeware were stored across the first and second floors of the shop.
