Fire fighters are also on site to help put the fire out. Once fire is out a team will begin with investigation to determine the extent of the damage. The extent of the damage will guide the team on repairs and restoration plan. Further information will be communicated after investigations.^NN

From Halfway House, the team proceeded to a third location in Kyalami Business Estate on Foxhound Street, where a residential property owes more than R1.3 million in outstanding electricity charges. Upon arrival, the team established that the property had previously been visited; however, access could not be secured at the time. The same challenge was encountered during today's operation. Although the property was approved for 14 units, the owner has built significantly more and owes over R2.4 million in outstanding electricity charges, which may be linked to NSFAS-funded accommodation. The inspection also revealed that the owner had illegally reconnected the electricity supply after a previous disconnection. We launched this High Solar Mast Apollo light in Finetown last night, one of the 19 already planted across the City - with 9 in Soweto already. When power goes off at night due to #Loadshedding, these lights will remain on. By December 100 of these lights will be in Alexandra, Diepsloot, Ivory Park, Orange Farm, Vlakfontein, among others. City of Joburg hard at work to #LightUpTheCity

According to the wayleaf signed, the developer is not allowed to use a TLB (excavator) to dig as this is going to damage various cables. The agreement is that digging is to be done by manual labour. The first time this cable was damaged, operators managed to backfeed supply but this is now not possible. Last week, the same cable was damaged and it took four days to resolve the outage. While we understand that the community needs services and accommodation, we appeal to the councilors and community leaders to address this concern with the developer. Our team will work swiftly to restore supply but we need you, our valued customers to help us safeguard our electricity infrastructure. Please note that the 33kV cable is unique and has to be ordered. As a result of this, there is no estimated time for restoration. ^TM
