The approach road has turned into a muddy, slippery stretch due to the ongoing bridge work, forcing thousands of commuters to risk slips and falls every day. For months, Railways say the north-side staircase is stalled because माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC has not issued the required NOC. If that’s true, why has माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC delayed a critical public safety project? And if Railways knew this bottleneck existed, why was there no effective contingency plan to ensure safe commuter access? Instead of coordination, commuters are caught in a blame game between Ministry of Railways and माझी Mumbai, आपली BMC. Public infrastructure projects cannot come at the cost of public safety.
