The Clark County Election Department is introducing a new step in the in-person voting process in 2026. The check-in process and voting machines (now called ballot marking devices) will remain the same as in recent elections. But now, once a voter makes their selections, they get a printout of their ballot to review before submitting it through the new tabulators. This change aligns with statewide security standards and national best practices. By producing a paper ballot, every voter can easily review their selections before casting their vote. Paper records are then safely stored for audits and recounts if needed.

We are getting the first images from the two #ClarkCounty area fire strike teams deployed to the #LosAngelesFires. The devastation is heartbreaking. The first 24-person team is at the #PacificPalisadesFire putting out spot fires. At 2am today they fought a 2-story house fire.

The call came in from FEMA and Nevada Task Force 1 organized a huge response within 4 hours. The Texas deployment is set for 14 days but could be extended. NVTF-1 caravan includes trucks, 18-wheelers and support vehicles loaded with gear and equipment. Thank you - stay safe.

In 2022, LVMPD responded to 24 co-sleep related deaths. The youngest child was only 6 days old. So far in 2023, they’ve responded to 7. “It can be prevented.” That’s why Clark County Family Services has teamed up with UMC Hospital & Nevada Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics to launch the “Safe Sleep” campaign.
