With his entire family and former high school and college teammates — including Shabazz Napier, Jeremy Lamb, Chris Fouch, and closest friends — in attendance, Hornets legend Kemba Walker officially opened the Kemba Walker Sports Academy in Concord today. A lifelong dream for the four-time All-Star and the Hornets’ all-time leading scorer, the academy extends Walker’s legacy by providing top-of-the-line training and facilities for young athletes in the Charlotte area. The facility features four full-size high school basketball courts, a state-of-the-art strength and conditioning center, and a dedicated team room for film study and performance analysis. The academy will also host the inaugural Kemba Walker Basketball Invitational this weekend, June 27–28.

After re-watching the Hornets-76ers game, it’s absolutely ridiculous this wasn’t called a flagrant, and the 76ers somehow got their timeout back on the challenge — especially considering Embiid tried to hurt LaMelo back in 2022. Also, the number of calls Embiid received flopping could've definitely changed the outcome of this pivotal game.

The Buddhist monks who have captivated the nation with their 2,300-mile 'Walk for Peace' are in Charlotte today. Led by Bhikkhu Pannakara, the monks departed Rock Hill this morning and trekked along U.S. 21 through Fort Mill, stopping at Anne Close Springs Greenway. They'll arrive in Charlotte near Miller’s Flea Market in Pineville later today. As they entered Anne Close Springs Greenway before roughly 1,000 spectators, we witnessed a Paritta (Buddhist chant) and the tying of sai sin (a sacred string ritual), symbolizing protection, blessing, and the transmission of positive energy. From Pineville, they’ll continue up Westinghouse Boulevard to South Boulevard, making their way to their nightly stop at Marion Diehl Recreation Center off Tyvola. They’ll then walk through Plaza Midwood the following day, heading northeast, according to their map (check for updates). The monks are crossing 10 states on their journey (North Carolina is the seventh) from Texas to Washington, D.C., which began on October 26, 2025, and is expected to conclude on February 11, 2026. They are accompanied by their dog Aloka (whose name means light), a former stray from India, who first joined the monks on a previous peace walk, traveling over 1,864 miles.
