On Tuesday, March 18, shortly before 11:30 a.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service in the 100 block of S. Sharon Amity Road in the Providence Division. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim who had sustained non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the suspect and the suspect vehicle. Tonight, a procession carried CMPD Officer Joshua Eyer’s body from the hospital to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Thank you for the enormous outpouring of support from law enforcement across the state as well as Charlotte Fire Dept for closing roads tonight. Our prayers are with Officer Eyer’s family and the families of the three other officers who lost their lives in the line of duty today.
