Our officers were ecstatic to get to take part in the Carolina Carolina Panthers Sound the Drum tour, cheering the Panthers into the playoffs! As we head into the first playoff game today, remember to follow stadium rules, don't drink and drive, stay aware of your surroundings and as always, if you see something, say something. Keep pounding, Charlotte!

On Tuesday, March 18, shortly before 11:30 a.m., officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call for service in the 100 block of S. Sharon Amity Road in the Providence Division. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim who had sustained non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the suspect and the suspect vehicle. Anyone with information about this incident can report it anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or Charlotte Crime Stoppers ( For additional information about these cases, please refer to the report: 20260318-1118-05.

Tomorrow marks the first official day of summer and just a friendly reminder: the juvenile curfew isn’t a suggestion. Our officers will be increasing curfew enforcement and shutting down late‑night meetups, hangouts and gatherings before they turn into problems. Parents, this is where your partnership matters: know where your kids are, who they’re with and what they’re doing. If you’re under 18 and out after hours without adult supervision, consider this your notice. We’ll be out, we’ll be watching and yes — we’ll be there to end the “fun” when it crosses the line.

Tonight, a procession carried CMPD Officer Joshua Eyer’s body from the hospital to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Thank you for the enormous outpouring of support from law enforcement across the state as well as Charlotte Fire Dept for closing roads tonight. Our prayers are with Officer Eyer’s family and the families of the three other officers who lost their lives in the line of duty today.
