Former Suffolk MP Lord Deben expressed his shock that Marie Curie's overnight #palliativecare nursing service for Ipswich and Suffolk will end after an NHS trust withdrew funding. “Anyone who suggests that we get that priority right by funding #assistedsuicide rather than Marie Curie nurses seems to me to be saying something that the public would not accept.” The Leadbeater Bill, if passed, would create a fully funded “assisted dying” service, at a time when hospices (which are only 30% Government funded) are continually announcing cuts.
