After impacting the Northern Mariana Islands &amp; making landfall on the U.S. territory of Rota, Super Typhoon #Bavi continues to move westward in the Philippine Sea. It will gradually weaken, but will still be a powerful typhoon before impacting Taiwan and China later this week.

#StormEowyn could be the worst storm in generations for Ireland, Scotland, and the United Kingdom. The GFS model below shows pressure getting down to 936mb, equivalent to a category 4 hurricane! Met Office saying flying debris could cause danger to life, with gusts up to 100mph.

Typhoon #Bavi is still churning in the Philippine Sea. Though it’s weakening some, it will remain a large and powerful typhoon when it hits the Yaeyama Islands of southern Japan on Friday. The center looks to pass just north of Taiwan before making landfall in China this weekend.

After hitting the Babuyan Islands as a category 5 super typhoon, #Ragasa has moved into the South China Sea and is slightly weaker, but remains a powerful storm. Its next stop is China, where it will make landfall in the Guangdong province on Wednesday at category 2 strength.

One of the most surreal infrared satellite loops ever captured. 5 years ago today: Hurricane Dorian’s infamous stall. It impacted a single land area as a CAT 5 for the longest duration recorded in the Atlantic. Parts of Great Abaco &amp; Grand Bahama were in the eyewall for 22 HOURS!
