After a long day of engagements with the leadership in Gulu, I decided to explore the local cuisine restaurants. I ended up at 27/7. Yes 24/7! With great prices to drive excitement, I ordered for chicken in gnut paste (Pasted Chicken). Guys, be warned, the portions are legendary. I am here asking imat Dorah not to kill me with food! house_ojok doing amazing in Gulu. Every restaurant I have been to has the Ojok branded chilli. Well done comrade.

The jokes were real all the time with my comrade Saad. I remember telling him to take a pause from general photography to focus on the upcoming oil and gas sector. I took Saad as a young brother who needed to make his mark in the oil and gas industry. We covered a lot of work in the field and in board rooms. We made sure he had archives of the industry as seen through his camera lens. I will miss my mentee. 🙏🏿

Meanwhile kids todays still do ‘chujji’. This was porridge made out of sorghum or millet. The timing while moving the spoon was very essential in determining whether the porridge ‘dies’ or gets consumed. We did this at the ‘base’. The whole process took a minute or two. I had friends at Mwiri who could revive the ‘dead’ chujji! Legends 🤣🤣

One thing I can’t get wrong is a good roast. Been in this hustle for 20 years. The results of a pilau stuffed goat. I really loved this process. Overnight marination and a 4 hour slow roast. Banange Mumpe ku gig!!! 😎🤣🤣

One of my proudest moments. Being flown to South Africa by my brother and kinsman Captain Japheth Okabo aka OJ and Captain Edema Aloysius. I thought I was the coolest Lango South of Karuma kumbe OJ Capt. Aloysius are flying planes. I might need to recalibrate my marking guide for coolest Lango!! Capt Aloysius was the President’s pilot for over 15 years. Amazing men with great experience. Btw it was always my dream to be a pilot and the nearest I came to this dream was when I was a turn boy on a fuso truck and my driver Katongole was called “pilot”. I was being primed to take over from Katongole. 🤣🤣 OJ makes me proud! I love to see brothers winning! Capt OJ and Capt. Aloysius, Apwoyo matek!! God speed 🙏🏿

What an amazing ride to Nairobi all the way from Kampala. Two punctures humbled me after Eldoret. Had my tyre sorted at the Equator. Amazing people I met. Got to Nairobi on time. Using Saturday to repair the tyre properly and do some checks on the bike. Road trips are the best therapy!! Uganda Bikers Association

There has been talk about Uganda exporting its crude oil. This is a false narrative considering our waxy oil profile and the impossibility of it moving in trucks as suggested. If trucks were to be used, you would need thousands of them to make economic sense. Tullow Oil tried it in Kenya and discontinued it for lack of economic viability despite the liquid nature of the Kenyan oil in the Turkana region. #oilandgas

One of the best moments of 2024. Riding to Kigali from Kampala with my biker buddies from Uganda Bikers Association. We were picked up from Gatuna border by the Rwandese bikers and directed into the city. Next stop Nairobi. I am looking forward to more miles in 2025.

Our Busoga College Mwiri Fortress wall has been breached! Our elder and my uncle Honorable Henry Kyemba has fallen. Sad day for us and the nation. I had a great laugh with him just a few weeks ago. Little did I know it would be the last time. The video here is his last appearance at the Old Boys AGM last year. We will miss a great man. Linda Nabirye (Chart.PR) the Mwiri Old Boys Association is coming to support.

My old man has been setting me up for village meetings since I was a teenager. Every year it’s all about, “Junior is coming so be here on time”. Well, my first order of business immediately after landing in LA (Lira) today was to meet some amazing farmers who have had a tough year. If you recall, I renovated their store in March this year. Unfortunately the weather conditions have impacted their harvest. Climate change is messing up livelihoods and the impact is being felt. We need to mitigate this asap. We discussed getting them market for their January harvest. Lango sub region is the grain capital of country and probably East Africa. Visit Lira and see for yourself.
