"I've never met him before and I said, 'You are Robert Smith of The Cure.' And he said, he said, 'Yeah, we've never met.' And then I said, 'Well, while you're here then you'd better go and do something.' That's how collaborations work sometimes. Go out and sing the backing vocal."

Paul McCartney joined Stephen Colbert's band on trumpet for "When the Saints Go Marching In" during the final episode of The Late Show. Per Jon Lampley: "One of the many surreal last moments on the stage of the Ed Sullivan theater. Sir Paul McCartney told me during our rehearsal that his father bought him a horn when he was young and he worked out how to play 'When The Saints Go Marching In.'
