COOLMORE SECURE HOME AFFAIRS’ GOLDEN SLIPPER WINNER GUEST HOUSE. Coolmore Australia is delighted to announce the acquisition of Home Affairs’ outstanding son Guest House, following his electrifying victory in the Group 1 Golden Slipper at Rosehill last weekend. Guest House stamped himself as the best two-year-old of his generation with an eye-catching performance in Australia’s premier two-year-old race. From the first crop of Coolmore’s own champion sprinter Home Affairs, Guest House’s triumph further enhances the reputation of his sire, who joined the likes of Extreme Choice and Danehill by producing a Golden Slipper winning colt from his first crop. Brilliantly managed by trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr., Guest House burst on the scene with a strong win in December, before running an unlucky placing in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes. Trainer Mick Price paid tribute to him, commenting “He’s been a special colt from day one. He has an abundance of natural speed, just like his sire, and to see him deliver like that in a Golden Slipper is incredibly rewarding. We’re delighted to see him secure his future at stud at Coolmore to stand alongside his own very exciting young sire.” Coolmore Australia’s Tom Magnier was quick to underline the significance of securing the colt, stating “Home Affairs is a stallion that we have had such great faith in for a number of years and Guest House has been on our radar since his debut win in December. He is exactly the type of colt we strive to stand at Coolmore – a Golden Slipper winner by a brilliant young sire, with the speed and physique to make a top-class stallion. FASTNET ROCK 2001 – 2025 “This is such a sad day for everyone who has worked at Coolmore and played a part in Fastnet’s life. Our thoughts today are with all the staff who cared for him over the past 24 years,” said Tom Magnier. “He was born and prepared as a yearling here at Coolmore and raced in the navy silks for Paul Perry and our ownership partners. Residing in the stallion barn for 20 years, he was the kindest and smartest horse you would ever meet and I’m so glad that we got to parade him one last time at the open day two weeks ago, where he looked incredible. Sadly, he suffered an injury over the weekend, which deteriorated rapidly and we did not want him to suffer. Coolmore Australia would not be what it is today without Fastnet Rock and we owe him so much” His legacy is woven into the fabric of racing and breeding, an enduring testament to a once-in-a-lifetime horse.
