In the gym to get eyes on Duke commit John Blackwell as he prepares head on for the 2026 NBA Draft pre-draft process. Tough scoring guard who shot 39% on 7.3 3PTA and 86% from the FT line. Blackwell—reportedly grown an inch over the last year— now stands 6’5” in shoes.

Cam Boozer took just 20 midrange shots in 38 gms during his frosh campaign but took 32 midrange shots in 23 gms during his 17U EYBL season for the Nightrydas per Synergy Basketball The lack of in-between game has been a question for some projecting him as a star after his heavy rim + 3 shot profile at Duke, but I think the middy is something Cam is capable of utilizing more often at the next level to keep defenses honest when he puts the ball on the deck and gets cut off on drives.

We’ve all seen the clips highlighting Darius Acuff’s defensive issues and it would be disingenuous to hand wave them. Still, I don’t think Acuff is a lost cause. I won’t argue that Acuff has been good nor would I project him to be good at the next level as being “good” at something requires consistency in both effort and ability and he hasn’t shown consistent effort on that side of the ball. I think part of it may be an effort to not pick up fouls, but that also shouldn’t excuse the inconsistency. The ability on the other hand is something I believe he does possess and the core issue is how often he is willing to lock in, sit down, and guard. Getting him to buy into that part will be up to his next team. All that to say…here is four minutes of Darius Acuff locking in and guarding.

In the gym to get eyes on UCLA’s Tyler Bilodeau The 6’9” forward has arguably the smoothest jumper in the 2026 NBA Draft—finishing his SR campaign with 52/46/87 shooting splits. Efficient scorer at 3-levels. Going to carve out a long career spacing the floor at a high level.

In the gym to get eyes on UNC commit Matt Able—where the 6’6” guard shot the absolute shit out of the ball Able will attend the 2026 NBA Draft Combine looking to use it as a platform to build momentum after an up-and-down FR season at NC State, displaying intriguing flashes

In the gym with UConn’s Tarris Reed this morning as he prepares for the 2026 NBA Draft. Reed’s unique combo of skill, feel, strength, length, and mobility helped lead the Huskies to the NCAA National Title game. When I asked what him what he was looking forward to showing teams during the pre-draft process he said “shooting”

Got a chance to get in the gym with Syracuse wing Aiden Tobiason as he prepares to go through the predraft process. Tobiason has spent the last two seasons at Temple where he’s shown some intriguing tools as a a 6’6” two-way wing who can make things happen off the ball and create his own shot. Potential to build some momentum during the predraft process and pop in the ACC for the Orange next season

Zuby Ejiofor is one of “my guys” in the 2026 NBA Draft One of college basketball’s most impactful players this season for St.John’s. 6’9” in shoes w/a 7’2” wingspan at 245. Elite ground coverage, disruptive, & switchable 1-5 on DEF. High feel on offense. Motor always runs hot. Top 20 pick imo

Mavs two-way SG John Poulakidas has the potential to be the next Sam Merrill. Was one of the top shooting prospects in the 2025 class. Lightning quick release, soft touch, makes tough shots. Should be an elite floor spacer in the league for a long time.

A lot has been made about Darryn Peterson’s playmaking, but it’s pretty nuts how often DEFs sold out to move him off the rock. DEFs almost always sent 2 on ball screens & felt comfortable overcommitting the gaps. He was never a PG, but life should get easier w/real floor spacers!

Enjoy 4 plus minutes of Darius Acuff Jr. throwing lobs 17.5% of Acuff’s total assists have been lobs during his freshman campaign. The touch, timing, creativity, degree of difficulty on some of these lobs is top tier stuff. Just an incredibly dynamic offensive player.

8 minutes of AJ Dybantsa P&R Playmaking ⬇️ - Size allows AJ to see over the top, hit the roll and handle two to the ball - Uses screens to get down hill, collapse the DEF, & create drive and kicks - Utilizes ball fakes well to shift the DEF - Comfortable utilizing off-hand out of live dribbles - Good touch, timing, placement on lobs - Has flashed weakside skips - Post game opens up snug P&Rs - Can overcommit on drives leading to strip TOVs - Can get lazy and loose at times leading to TOVs

Amani Hansberry out of Virginia Tech has been one of my favorite under the radar prospects this cycle. Has taken a big leap from his So to Jr season. Hansberry is a quick decision maker who can flow into multiple actions seamlessly. Really good out of P&R where he can roll to the rim or make plays out the short roll, and willing to pop and let it fly where he can attack closeouts. But the connective passing rules. 2.5/1 AST/TOV with a 20% AST%. Can really slide and make plays defensively too. Posting a 3.1 STL% & a 3.4 BLK% thus far. Hits the off-glass. Can finish with either hand. Has had good synergy with Avdalas. A sleeper to put on your radar.

Kon Knueppel two foot finishing 👣 62.1% at the rim in the half court despite his lack of vertical pop So good at utilizing his gravity to attack close outs or get a paint touch off cuts, post ups, and curls. Avoids putting himself in bad spots by playing off two and using his crafty footwork, strength, and feel to pump fake and pivot his way into openings and mess with defenders timing at the rim.

Joan Beringer is raw, he’s toolsy, and he might just be the most intriguing defensive prospect in the 2025 NBA Draft class. At 7’0” in shoes with a stupid 7’4.5” wingspan, Beringer swallows up space like a vacuum—fluid, long, and annoying to deal with on the perimeter. The scheme versatility is the sell—he can play up in a hedge, switch, or play in a drop. He likes to force ball-handlers into tough spots, getting in their shirt and shading them to a side, and his lateral movement is shockingly smooth for a guy this size (though his feet can get a little happy at times). Has real recovery tools, even when a defender gets a step on him. The offense is a little more basic right now. He’s strictly a rim-runner, screen-setting lob target, and garbage man—don’t ask him to stretch the floor and expect some pretty silly turnovers. BUT—and this is a massive but—he’s only been playing basketball for three years. The fact that he’s already this impactful defensively while being this raw is pretty exciting. The upside is undeniable, and it’s hard for me seeing him escape the lotto on draft night.

Kansas wing Kevin McCullar has received an invite to the 2023 NBA Draft Combine. Arguably the best perimeter defender in the class, Kevin McCullar Jr. did it all for the Jayhawks this season averaging 10.7 PTS, 7.0 REB, 2.4 AST, and 2.0 STL’s, all while guarding the opposing teams best player every night. An impact role player — McCuller can be a seamless connector on the wing for any NBA team.
