I have never seen the Baulks move as much as today, I think the marks on the frame are around 30cm apart (I will try and check this at the weekend) so I think they are moving up and down by around 1 metre in the waves. I don’t think I managed to get the most movement on a video.

Around 3 hours until high tide so it will be a while until the worst of Storm Goretti in Porthleven. Videos are of no quality really as I was struggling to hold the camera, stay upright and keep breathing, so I have not edited them just glued them all together. #Weather #cornwall

The marks have got to be about 30cm apart. I still cannot believe that these things float considering how heavy they are, but I find the amount that they move astonishing. It will be interesting to see if the weight of the new one that is still sat on the side at the moment.

This is the Helston to Penzance road, I have never really seen anything like this amount of tree damage, (there are two sections of trees that are down, the worst is at around 30 seconds into the video) a video from the back of a moving car just doesn’t really show it properly.

Mousehole Baulks, very different to ours in Porthleven. Smaller but a lot more of them, none floating, gaps between to let the sea in and out and they are chained down either side and across the top. There may also be another mechanism on the top of the highest Baulk holding them
